rs. Florence Brockington “Joe” Grant, daughter<br />
of Retha Douglas Brockington and Archie<br />
Brockington, Sr,. was born in Florence County<br />
July 10, 1936. She departed this life August 19, 2022.<br />
She attended schools in Florence County. While in<br />
school, she met her childhood sweetheart, Eddie Grant,<br />
Sr. They were united in holy matrimony July 31, 1954,<br />
and to this union they were blessed with three beautiful<br />
children. At an early age, Florence was baptized at<br />
Mount Pisgah Baptist Church where she maintained her<br />
membership as a lifetime devoted member.<br />
She was predeceased in death by her husband, Eddie<br />
Grant, Sr/. her parents, Retha and Archie Brockington,<br />
Sr., four brothers, two sisters, and two grandchildren.<br />
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her devoted<br />
loving children, Allen (Claudette) Grant, Sr.; Mary<br />
Martin (deceased Cornelius Martin Sr.); Eddie (Lillie)<br />
Grant Jr.; a niece, Sheila Johnson; a nephew, Timothy<br />
Johnson (deceased) who were raised in the home;; eleven<br />
grandchildren, forty-two great grandchildren, twentynine<br />
great great-grandchildren; one brother, Deacon<br />
Wayne (Mary) Brockington; and a host of nieces,<br />
nephews, and other relatives and friends.
