Placer Artists Tour 2022 Directory & Tour Guide

This year we are excited to present 110 artists, 6 Galleries and 8 Music and Art Schools over two weekends in 71 locations! Save your Guide as a year long Artist Directory resource! Most artists are available year round by appointment, and Galleries and Art Schools are ready to welcome you. Placer Artists Tour is in its 2nd year as an independent organization. We are grateful to our many sponsors who help keep us moving forward. We extend a huge thank you to our Presenting Sponsor, the Art League of Lincoln, for serving as our fiscal receiver for two years. We are also grateful to the Placer Community Foundation as they continue to support the Tour through a grant. Once again, we are partnering with the Auburn Symphony and you will be able to experience some of their musicians at tour locations. Additional musicians have been invited to perform in various studios as well. This year, we are thrilled to announce the Placer Artists Tour Endowment Fund! This is a matching fund and in three years we plan to use the interest toward our operating expenses. This legacy event honoring our artists will live on and we need your support! We have a mighty group of Steering Committee members and Regional Leaders. The work of the Tour couldn’t happen without each and every one. And, of course, we wouldn’t be able to present the Tour without your participation so please enjoy exploring our rich, vibrant arts community! Watch for our survey after the Tour as we work on building our data to support the economic impact of the arts.

DISCOVER PUBLIC ART!
When in Auburn, enjoy searching
for the many public art projects
sponsored by the Auburn Arts
Commission. “Sierra to the Sea”
is mosaic mural that provides an
overhead view of the American and
Sacramento rivers. The Art Park
invites you downtown to view
“Stella Stella Stella” as you wander
under colorful umbrellas. Wonderful, and sometimes whimsical,
micro murals can be found on the many utility boxes.
The Central Pacific Railroad’s first paid freight, three mine
cart loads of Rocklin granite for a building in San Francisco,
inspired “Off the Rails” presented by the City of Rocklin Art
Task Force. See if you can spot these mining carts as you visit
the artists of Rocklin. A 30-ft high mural, by local artist John
Horton, is located on the walls of City Hall. This contemporary,
colorful mural depicts quarry workers from days gone by.
Murals can be spotted in historic downtown Roseville and
Lincoln thanks to our vibrant arts organizations, Blue Line Arts
and the Art League of Lincoln.
Public art offers a way to bring communities together and
create gathering spaces for residents and visitors alike. How
many projects can you find?
