TYPES OF COATINGS<br />
GALVANISING<br />
The quality of the basket determines the lifetime of a gabion. So for our DIY models,<br />
we apply an anti-corrosion galvanised coating with a robust 275 g/m 2 thickness.<br />
This zinc-aluminium coating makes the steel wire especially resistant to weather as well as<br />
bending and impacts. The smooth, even surface of the mesh shines immediately after you set<br />
it up, but after a while it takes on the typical stylish matt appearance.<br />
HOT-DIP GALVA-<br />
NISED BASKETS<br />
In addition to our galvanised coated baskets<br />
we also offer pre-produced hot-dip galvanised<br />
gabions. With these, we first weld the entire element<br />
at our plant before dipping it into a zinc<br />
bath at 450 °C. This results in a tough, full-coverage<br />
anti-corrosion coat that also covers cuts<br />
and welds.<br />
We provide our stone baskets with openings<br />
so that you can fill them with rocks, and we<br />
naturally also supply covers to fit. They are<br />
easy to lock down with spirals or C-rings after<br />
filling.<br />
