EDUCATION
Our pupils are known and cherished by our teachers,
49% of whom are graduates of Oxford, Cambridge
and leading London universities. All are passionate
about their subjects.
We encourage and inspire each pupil, focusing on
nurturing their natural talents and interests – across
a broad, engaging curriculum.
Learning experience
In the classroom, we tailor our approach to suit
pupils’ preferred learning styles, employing the
High Performance Learning philosophy of Professor
Deborah Eyre. Lessons are interactive and collaborative,
and pupils form strong, mutually respectful working
relationships with their peers and their teachers.

Pupils experience a variety of methods, including
teacher-led discussion, group work and independent
study. Technology enhances learning and pupils
use Chromebooks, with pre-approved apps to
collaborate and engage with their studies.
Homework is meaningful, with teachers available
before and after school, or at morning break and
lunchtime to support pupils in their work. Boarders
complete their homework with support at the
boarding house, at the end of the school day.
Discover new talents
At every stage, we offer opportunities to extend
learning and broaden horizons. This includes a
variety of extra-curricular clubs, workshops, visits
and residential trips, and academic enrichment
activities including guest speakers and national
level competitions.
Make a difference
School life is full of opportunities in leadership,
service and enterprise. These provide different
ways to make positive changes in the world, and
enable our pupils to realise the power they have to
stand up for what they believe in.
Excel in sport
We encourage all our pupils to lead healthy, active
lives and sport is integral to our curriculum. In
partnership with Homerton College, University of
Cambridge our Long Road sports facilities include:
two AstroTurf pitches, netball and tennis courts,
athletics track, cricket green and field facilities,
plus a pavilion with physio room, kitchen and
changing rooms.
In partnership with Homerton College and the
City of Cambridge Rowing Club, we have a
boathouse on the River Cam, which enables pupils
to enjoy rowing during the week and at weekends.
