The <strong>Cyprus</strong> Shipp<strong>in</strong>g Chamber is the trade association of the<br />

Shipp<strong>in</strong>g Industry <strong>in</strong> <strong>Cyprus</strong>. The ma<strong>in</strong> purpose of the Chamber<br />

is to promote the <strong>in</strong>terests of <strong>Cyprus</strong> Shipp<strong>in</strong>g and to further<br />

the reputation of the <strong>Cyprus</strong> flag. The Chamber also acts as a<br />

lobby<strong>in</strong>g group for the promotion and safeguard of the legitimate<br />

<strong>in</strong>terests of its Member-companies, at national and <strong>in</strong>ternational<br />

level. On the local front, the Chamber co-operates very closely<br />

with the Government <strong>in</strong> all shipp<strong>in</strong>g related matters. Moreover,<br />

the Chamber operates as a rov<strong>in</strong>g ambassador of <strong>Cyprus</strong><br />

Shipp<strong>in</strong>g through its membership and active participation at<br />

the International Chamber of Shipp<strong>in</strong>g (ICS) and the European<br />

Community Shipowners’ Associations (ECSA).<br />

<strong>Cyprus</strong> Union of Shipowners, as the major representative<br />

Organization of the <strong>Cyprus</strong> Flag vessels, is committed to the firm<br />

INSURANCE ASSOCIATION OF CYPRUS<br />

The Insurance Association of <strong>Cyprus</strong> is the accredited and<br />

representative body of the Cypriot <strong>in</strong>surance <strong>in</strong>dustry, with 29<br />

member <strong>in</strong>surance companies operat<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> <strong>Cyprus</strong>, account<strong>in</strong>g<br />

for approximately 98% of total gross written premiums. As<br />

the lead<strong>in</strong>g and united voice of the <strong>Cyprus</strong> <strong>in</strong>surance market<br />

its mission is to promote the <strong>in</strong>dustry’s views and positions to<br />

policymakers and legislators. It is also particularly active with<br />

respect to work aim<strong>in</strong>g at the modernization of the sector, the<br />

cont<strong>in</strong>uous improvement of the level and quality of service to the<br />

public, the enhancement of consumers’ trust and confidence <strong>in</strong><br />

<strong>in</strong>surance products and their providers, and the strengthen<strong>in</strong>g of<br />

STEP is the global professional association for practitioners who<br />

works to improve public understand<strong>in</strong>g of the issues families<br />
