A few months ago, I turned 60 and started myretirement. I have now the luxury to take a backseat. The last year in the office, I was involvedin the preparation of a new SP operational planfor the Asian Development Bank. Most strikingduring the preparations was the interest fromthe colleagues from different sectors, transport,energy, urban (besides health and education),to have social protection components includedin their projects to ensure that everyone is ableto access and benefit from infrastructure andrelated services. Besides there is the growingawareness of the importance of social protectionin climate change, to allow to better respondto shocks, but also to support climate changeadaptation.
