good 2-1 victory where we played well for large
parts of the game. As I said, it will be interesting to
see if the break has a positive or negative effect
on teams, their performances and results.
So the World Cup is well and truly now at the
business end of the tournament and it has, as
always, been enjoyable to watch and follow. We have
seen the usual shock results in the group stages of
the tournament, some wonderful goals, excellent
individual performances, controversial decisions
and the usual drama and heartache that every
World Cup always produces. As I write these notes,
we are at the quarter-final stage – the last eight and
there are some great games to look forward to.
Netherlands v Argentina, Croatia v Brazil, England
v France and Morocco v Portugal.
We will know the outcome of these games well
before we arrive at the stadium for today’s game
and, as a proud Englishman, I hope England have
overcome a very impressive French team and
progressed to the last four of the tournament.

As this is our last fixture at home before the
festive season, I would like to wish everyone a very
happy Christmas. For many reasons, it has been a
really challenging and difficult time for everyone
and I hope this Christmas gives us all a chance to
spend time with those we love and cherish.
Thank you once again for the incredible support
you have given the team throughout the season
so far, both at home and away matches. That
support should never be taken for granted – it is
really appreciated and makes a huge difference to
the team on the pitch.
Let’s really get behind our team today as we look
to get a valuable three points on the board. Be
loud and be proud of who we are – We are QPR.
