CHCA ALUMNI LEGACY 40
Hang around CHCA for any amount of time, and you will see alumni all around – in classrooms teaching the next generation of eagles, cheering in the stands, working backstage, serving on the Board, coaching teams, volunteering...the list goes on. We’ve recently been talking a lot about legacy at CHCA. Perhaps it moved to the forefront when we celebrated our 30 th Anniversary a couple of years ago. Or perhaps it’s because now, more than any time in CHCA’s history, we have more alumni here with their children (and now graduating their children, such as the Jon Adams ’95 family), and more alumni returning to work at CHCA. As each year passes, those numbers increase. Families are building their legacies here and we couldn’t be more excited about that! Many of those families you will see sprinkled throughout this magazine. One such family, you saw featured on the cover. Jonathan and Jessica (Martin) Snyder ’98 were not only two of the first of over 2,500 students to walk across a graduation stage at CHCA, they have since returned with their four children and have also served in many capacities – Jonathan on the board for six years, and also as a youth basketball coach, and Jessica on the Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) Board, the newly formed Champions Club, and also as a youth lacrosse coach and a long-term sub in our Lower School. The list goes on. Legacy. Merriam Webster defines ‘legacy’ as: something transmitted by or received from an ancestor or predecessor or from the past. We can think of few things better to receive than the gift of a Christ-centered, academically excellent, CHCA education, where students find their place, grow their gifts and talents, and become who God made them to be—world changers. Thank you to ALL of our alumni, who continue to grow their legacy through CHCA. 41
