Polyester felt
There are good reasons for selecting products made from
wood. As well as being a beautiful, vibrant and natural material
that feels good to touch, wood is a renewable resource.
Unlike many other materials based on oil, coal or metals,
wood is sustainable, recyclable, and decomposes naturally.
From the perspective of climate control, our willingness and
determination to manage forest resources is crucial, and
consumers and producers need to know whether a piece of
timber has sustainable origins.
We began making felt baskets containing recycled polyester
from plastic waste in 2010 – in order to transform waste into
stylish products. Plastic is made from oil, which is a limited
resource. A composition of new supplies combined with
recycled material is carded into small threads, pressed and
heated into polyester felt material. The end product becomes
soft, strong and helps regain wasted resources into new consumer
products.
Certification systems backed by the EU and responsible
timber producing countries document the path from forest
to consumer, and Cinas has a firm policy in this regard. All
of our timber and finished wood products are procured from
producers covered by the two.
