Patrick Cornée 

NEW ARTIST 

Patrick Cornée, born in 1962 in Toulouse, France, is a 

painter currently living and working in Mougins. 

Encouraged by his military father, Cornée enlisted in the 

French Navy at the age of 16. After six years of sailing 

around the world, he began to feel a longing to paint once 

again and it became obvious to him that this was the path 

he was destined to take. And so, he attended art school in 

Toulon and took classes in a painter’s workshop. The artist 

began developing his own style and working with national 

and international galleries. 

Cornée is inspired by artists like Andy Warhol and is known 

for his pop and colourful aesthetic. The artist wishes to 

evoke joy, cheerfulness and care-freeness, as well as to 

share his love of life. He likes to explore new materials, 

formats and techniques, using oil paints, acrylic paints, 

spray paints, knives and paintbrushes, as well as through 

etching and collages.

Rosen’s work deals with similar themes to those prevalent in Pop Art and the 60s and 

70s, but also tackles the urban, recent trends, and current affairs. She is nationally 

recognised as a rapidly growing young talent, from the Cannes Film Festival 

(where she had an exhibition in 2009) to the Laudun Art Fair.

Anna McKeown, artist behind brand Pop and Toast which represents 

an international platform showcasing one-off artwork and prints. 

Anna the creator of Pop and Toast has worked within an educational 

capacity for the past 10 years but now works as an artist full time. 

She graduated with a BA Hons degree in Fine Art from the Glasgow 

School of Art in 2009 and has exhibited in Ireland, Scotland, 

California, Mexico and Dubai.

LOUISE BROWN 

Louise is a self taught artist 

based in rural Lincolnshire 

where she lives with her 

husband and two Lurchers. At 

school she loved art, but had 

an uninspiring art teacher, so 

she decided to pursue a career as a Radiographer. 

It soon became clear to Louise that her job was 

unfulfilling and started painting as a hobby after 

attending a few evening classes. She was encouraged 

to continue her passion for art when she started 

selling her work on eBay and to friends. Eventually, as 

her painting technique improved, she was accepted 

by an art publisher and became a professional artist. 

Louise’s love of animals is evident in her paintings, 

and they capture the personality of the subject. Her 

paintings tend to be quirky and humorous, and her 

painting style is loose and expressive.

MARIUSZ KAŁ DOWSKI 

Born in 1962 in Poland. In 1987 he graduated from art studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. 

A painter, illustrator, and graphic artist who has exhibited at over 300 exhibitions. 

From 1996 he has been painting and exhibiting in the United Kingdom and resident artist in London’s 

Regent Park from 2002 – 2013. Mariusz has been working with the National Trust as their painter for the 

South East of England since 2009.

Marie is an inventive artist 

who consistently pushes the 

boundaries of her technique, 

producing paintings that sing 

with her passion for life and 

the natural world. 

Her technical skill as a painter 

combines with an in-depth 

knowledge of plants gained 

from her mother, a keen 

botanist and gardener. Whilst 

she began her working life as 

a nurse, a move to Cornwall 

in 2000 gave Marie the 

opportunity to begin painting 

full time. Asked to describe 

her technique, Marie says, 

“I take great delight in starting 

a new painting, brushing in 

the skies, this is the only time 

I use a brush; I then use pallet 

knives and my fingers to create 

the hedgerow.”

“Having worked in Design and 

advertising for twenty years and moving 

later in to the wall art industry, creating 

things has always been a part of my life. 

Inspired by a love of all things green and 

having been fortunate enough to have 

spent a childhood playing in fields, I still 

return from walks with handfuls of weeds 

and grasses. The texture and shapes are 

an endless source of painting material, 

the most beautiful things can often be 

found in the most unlikely of places from 

the roadside to waste ground. 

The end result for me when painting an 

image is to hopefully create something 

that is ‘pretty’, that is simply a pleasure 

to look at and lets you find a new little 

detail the more you look in to the image.”

DINA PEREJOGINA 

Dina Perejogina was born in St Petersburg, Russia, in April 1976, growing up with her mother, a very talented 

artist and brother in St Petersburg. Following in her parents’ footsteps, she graduated from the St Petersburg Art 

Restoration school and subsequently became interested in wildlife drawing and painting. In 1996 Dina moved to 

the UK and became a British Citizen, and is happily married with two lovely children. 

 

“My love of wildlife and fine art has led me to develop a very detailed style of work. I will usually spend several weeks 

on a painting to ensure I capture the intricacy and essence of my subject. I always endeavour to create emotion in 

my paintings, in the hope that the owners of my work will be moved to smile whenever they catch sight of it.”

Adam Barsby was born in Leicester 

in 1969. After graduating in 

Illustration at The Kent Institute 

of Art and Design with a first class 

honours Degree in 1992, he began 

his artistic career as a freelance

I like to contrast elements of tight, structured paint work with loose, atmospheric washes and gestural marks. Colour and 

texture are both dominant elements in my paintings. Expect to see a mixture of sweeping brush strokes, palette knife 

work, dripping paint, scratched back surfaces and washy pools of paint. I respond intuitively to each of the landscapes 

that I have walked and seek to capture the elemental nature and energy of a place rather than to record a literal 

interpretation. Like the patina of time, my work is multi-layered and built up and scraped back over time. This adds both 

depth and textural variety to my outcomes.

ANNA SCHOFIELD 

Anna is a self taught artist and mainly paints 

in oils. All of her paintings are created with 

love and care from her studio in Cotgrave. 

She loves travelling and documenting 

interesting parts of nature, seascapes, skies, 

harbours and mainly light. The places she 

visits, live long in her memory until she is 

ready to bring them back to life on canvas 

with her own interpretation. 

She starts the artwork by creating a 

suggestion of the mark using acrylic, gesso 

or other media and then covers it with many 

layers of oil paint. Texture is integral part 

of her work and she enjoys the process of 

evolving areas as they emerge. She works 

mainly with palette knives, fingers and a 

variety of other implements as well as brushes 

to create diversity in her mark-making. Her 

combination of texture, strong colours and 

light create an uplifting and positive result. 

Some paintings take a few hours, some a 

couple of days and others a few weeks as 

she lives with the painting and constantly 

adds changes and details to make sure she 

has captured everything she wanted to say.

passion for Argentine tango and emotional 

response to nature.

Ashvin Harrison is an Australian artist living in Queensland, Australia. In 2017, after moving there from 

Toowoomba to start a life as a professional full-time artist. Ashvin had been a hobby artist for a few years

Duncan started painting professionally aged 19 and 

had his first exhibition that year. Soon after this he 

gave up painting to study Architecture in London but 

returned to pursue his career as a full time artist a 

few years later and has continued to attract collectors 

who appreciate fine oil and watercolour paintings. 

Inspired by Edward Seago, William Turner, Julius 

Olson and the Newlyn School of Artists who worked 

in Cornwall in the last century Duncan’s distinctive 

representational style captures texture, light and 

atmosphere in his landscapes and coastal scenes. 

He endeavours to evoke the same principals in his 

treatment of the interplay of light that those artists 

so successfully achieved in their paintings. More 

recently he has diversified into a more fluid approach 

using oils on gesso board as a medium for his beach 

scenes to show his love of the sea with its movement, 

rhythms and space.
