and the good thing was there were another two
or three players inside the area who could have
scored if Tyler hadn’t. It’s been stop-start for him
in terms of injuries and so on but, if we can keep
building his fitness, you’ll see more of that from
him in the second half of the season. He worked
his socks off, there was nothing left in the tank at
the end of the game and that’s the level of work
that’s required if you’re going to win games.
I was delighted with Jamal Lowe’s contribution
when he came on. First and foremost, he’s a
really good guy and he’s fitted into the group
straight away, but he also brings a calmness to
our attacking play in the final third. He’s a good
decision-maker and he’ll assist and score more
goals, I’ve no doubt about that. Our challenge is to
make sure we manage his match minutes because
he’s not had a lot of football lately. But we’ve got
19 games to go and we’ll try to make sure he’s fit
and available for all of those.
Also, I’d like to wish Mide Shodipo good luck after
moving to Lincoln on loan. Mide’s a good guy and
he was brilliant to work with in my first month
here. At the moment, however, I can’t guarantee
him regular game time and he’s at a stage in his
career where he needs to be playing every week. I
genuinely hope he gets that at Lincoln and there
are one or two more we hope may be able to go
out on loan before the end of the month.
