Transcending beauty through artisanship<br />

Designer of Torsa, Cascade, Zendo Sense, Kobo and Radoc<br />

Good design goes hand in hand with usability and comfort. Th<strong>at</strong><br />

is wh<strong>at</strong> inspires <strong>Manutti</strong> founder and head designer Stephane De<br />

Winter (1968). He cre<strong>at</strong>ed and guards the unique <strong>Manutti</strong> DNA:<br />

smart design, craftsmanship and a profound sense of quality. This is<br />

reflected in his Kobo, Radoc and Zendo Sense collections, fe<strong>at</strong>uring<br />

a mix of refined, classic designs with a contemporary twist. Always<br />

receptive to the customer’s needs and in line with the l<strong>at</strong>est trends,<br />

his team transcends itself to go beyond beauty.<br />

M<strong>at</strong>thew Townsend<br />

Establishing timeless connections<br />

Designer of Cobi & Sunrise<br />

After studying industrial design in Montreal, American designer M<strong>at</strong>thew Townsend<br />

(1992) pursued his passion for furniture design <strong>by</strong> moving to Florence, Italy.<br />

Aesthetics and functionality come together perfectly as M<strong>at</strong>thew constantly finds<br />

cre<strong>at</strong>ive new ways to use m<strong>at</strong>erials in his designs. “Establishing a strong personal<br />

connection between user and the design is wh<strong>at</strong> makes a piece timeless” says<br />

M<strong>at</strong>thew, who believes th<strong>at</strong> good design comes down to the user’s experience<br />

and perception of th<strong>at</strong> piece. The Cobi coffee table collection was his first design<br />

for <strong>Manutti</strong>. With Sunrise, M<strong>at</strong>thew has cre<strong>at</strong>ed a completely new and unique<br />

collection consisting of sofa’s, chairs, tables and loungers. The use of fabric and<br />

textile as part of the furniture frames cre<strong>at</strong>es an intriguing yet balanced contrast.<br />
