Ourcommunity is comprised of two cities, Waynesville and St.Robert, and the surrounding rural areas. The combinedestimated population was approximately 52,000 at the end of2018; Fort Leonard Wood, which is contiguous to the cities,has a day time population of roughly 32,000. Fort LeonardWood is a Department of Defense installation. It is the homeof the Engineer, Military Police, and Chemical, Biological,Radiological, and Nuclear schools and provides training forall branches of the Armed Services. We are truly blessed tohave the best of both worlds--a rural lifestyle with the benefits of larger cities.Our Chamber is committed to advancing the commercial, industrial, agricultural, educational, civic,and community interests of the residents and businesses in the region. TheWaynesville R-VI school district operates six elementary schools (one in St. Robert, one in Waynesville,four on Fort Leonard Wood), one Sixth Grade Center, one middle school, and one high school, plus aCareer Center.
