inn’6*- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -The EuroVelo 6 is a cycling route that meanders throughEuropean rivers and major cities like Belgrade, Budapest, andVienna. However, the true essence of the route lies in thejourney itself, rather than the destinations. By the nature ofthe cycling, route is intermingled with a long lost type oftravelling; a slow one; which evokes a long-lost sense ofexploration that allows cyclists to fully experience the journey.Inspiration:Advancements in transportation have made traveling fasterand more convenient, but it has also changed the meaning of"the journey" from an experience to simply reaching adestination. However, in the past, travelers had to endure longjourneys and stop at inns between major settlements for rest.In the approximate 2000 years from Roman times toindustrialization, that was not the case; travelers had toendure being on the road and therefore required restingbetween major settlements. Inns hosted travelers, pilgrimsand traders during these times of a slower pace. Being anaccomodative unit along EuroVelo6, inn'6 takes its inspirationfrom the European inn typology.Modularity:The design of Inn'6 employs a modular approach on acomponent scale. This approach enables the modularity ofthe system and interchangability of the components, thusmaking transportation, construction, and repair works mucheasier. The addition of components to the existing structureallows Inn'6 to evolve and modify the system according to theneeds of users along the EuroVelo 6 route. This feature ofInn'6 ensures flexibility and adaptability in meeting thediverse needs of the users, while also enhancing the longevityand sustainability of the overall design.
