Mina Ron Johnson A classmate of my wife reached
out to her via social media after reading we were looking
for a miniature dachshund, and told us about a lady in
Carthage who raises the breed. We were so happy, as it had
been so quiet around our house since our previous pup
passed away. We are so excited to have Mina. She has the
sweetest personality, loves sitting in my lap and playing
outside!

A year ago I joined Rankin County
4H and became one of the youngest
members of the Pelahatchie FFA.
I started showing Red Angus for
Gabbi Walters and Hilltop Cattle and
found a love I never knew existed.
Since I started showing Red Angus,
I have learned so much and formed
a bond with these animals that few
can relate to. I get up early, stay up
late, balance school and show life,
and enjoy every moment.

Waylon is the definition of “Man’s
Best Friend.” Two years ago, I found
him wandering on a farm while I was
working for someone, and I instantly
knew he was the dog for me. I couldn’t
let him be taken to the shelter, so I
took Waylon in. Waylon has always
been there for me, and loves taking
pictures!
Rolex Ann Cole Hammons My steer, Rolex, and I
won the 2022 Mississippi State Fair! If you know him you
know that he is quite the character and full of sass! He lives
up to his luxurious name and knows he’s one fancy boy.

I believe Skittles deserves to be recognized in
Hometown Magazines because of the hardship she
has faced. She was very malnourished and left alone
with no one to love or to love her. Seven months ago,
that all changed when we embarked upon a journey
of barrel racing together where we have formed
a bond full of trust and love. She is the horse
I’ve always wanted and more.
