Here’s what Ronald had to say…
“We fell in love with Birchgrove’s
retirement apartments when we visited
for a personal tour and approached the
local estate agents to have a valuation
on our home. We looked at others,
but we preferred the appearance,
especially the number of staff on
site and the facilities available.
We’ve got a foyer, a restaurant, a
club room and licensed bar; there’s
always somebody around. In the other
places we looked at, although a staff
member took us around, there were
few other staff members on site. They
were not visible as they are here.
Here we feel secure. We feel more
secure here than we did at home!
It is strange; we have lived in our house
for 55 years. But, in the end, I didn’t
feel secure with my illness and Pat’s fall.
And I didn’t know how that was going to
turn out. The staff are certainly a caring
element which is very comforting. We still
do our own cooking, my wife and I, in
the apartment. The kitchen is very good.
We’ve got a new home that is more
appropriate for what we need at this
stage in life. It is so important. Being
somewhere you feel comfortable,
secure, and safe means everything.”
