esponses to a few of the questions we ask
when interviewing advocates:
My favourite song: Blue by Joni Mitchell.
My most unusual job: I taught ballet and creative
dance many years ago and then during
the pandemic shared my personal blend of
Yoga and Pilates with friends and family via
Zoom.
My most embarrassing moment as a litigator:
The judge made it clear that they were not
with me, so I threw myself at the mercy of the
Court asking the judge not to punish my clients
for my failures. I had seen someone do this effectively
in Court a few weeks earlier, but it did
not work for me. I have regretted it ever since
and I have never done it again.
The last book I read: The Sleeping Car Porter
by Suzette Mayr.
A food I cannot stand: Pineapple. Never have,
never will. Eww.
My best advice for young litigators just
starting out: If you have something important
to say, take a deep breath, say it, and make
sure people hear you saying it. If it does not
work the first time, try again, and again…
