MAYOR<br />

Pearl is looking forward to 2023 as a banner year. Our city turns 50 years old and continues to be a tremendous place to<br />

“Live, Work and Play.” We have grown by leaps and bounds since being incorporated back in 1973 with our future looking brighter<br />

than ever.<br />

I am proud to be Pearl through and through. We are welcoming new businesses and residents to the city every day as our diverse<br />

27,000-member family grows in the largest city in Rankin County.<br />

We want you to see why Pearl is the “Jewel of the Crossroads” as we sit at the heart of I-55 and I-20, and Hwy 80 and Highway 49.<br />

We have a wide range of housing, with new construction going up all over town. We are a hard-working, business-friendly community<br />

with diverse employment opportunities from retail to dining, hotels and manufacturing, along with Hinds Community College and<br />

state offices, like MEMA, the State Fire Academy, MDEQ and the State Crime Lab.<br />

We are proud to be a stand-alone, prestigiously “A” rated school district. We are the Pirates and the home of champions in both<br />

the classrooms and extracurricular activities.<br />

We work hard every day to be one the safest cities in the state. We provide first-class service at every level from police and fire,<br />

to public works, parks and recreation, senior services and community development.<br />

We tirelessly promote our city and keep you in the know with our municipal television and radio stations.<br />

We are a great place to play as we welcome thousands of visitors with our new state-of-the-art ballparks and nature parks to<br />

spend a day. We have super shopping options, including the Riverwind District: home to Bass Pro Shop, Sam’s. the Outlets of<br />

Mississippi, Cinemark movie theater, restaurants, and hotels. The Mississippi Braves, the AA franchise of the Atlanta Braves, have<br />

drawn more than 3-million fans to Trustmark Park since 2005 and have won two league titles.<br />
