Welcome...
AI. Two letters that mean different things to
different people. To some, it means exciting
developments and technological advancements.
To others, it sparks a fear of the unknown. And to a
smaller group, it refers to the process of collecting
sperm cells from a male animal and manually depositing
them into the reproductive tract of a female. But it’s the
slightly more common ‘intelligence’ interpretation of the ‘I’ as
opposed to ‘insemination’ that I am discussing here.
Welcome to the latest edition of the South Woodford Village
Gazette! As we turn the page to summer, I am delighted to extend a
warm greeting and invite you on a journey of discovery, connection,
and community engagement. This magazine is here to serve as
your trusted companion, providing you with a comprehensive
guide to all that our remarkable community has to offer. As you
peruse the pages of this issue, I encourage you to engage with the
opportunities that unfold before you. Discover new businesses
and services that cater to your needs, support local artisans and
entrepreneurs who bring their unique talents to our community,
and participate in the exciting events that bring us together.
Apologies, there was a brief AI takeover with a ChatGPTgenerated
welcome address. Not bad, and I can’t fault the
‘thinking’ behind those words. But I’ll stick to my own
musings for now, and those of real, local people.
AI is powerful, but this magazine is already
built using the power of CI – community
intelligence – and there’s nothing
artificial about that.
