Q1. Reading your profile, I
recognize that you have been a
shining star throughout, both in
academics and in your career.
Would you brief us on your
rewarding journey thus far and
what made you choose a career in
academia?
It has been a pleasant journey
in the academic area and I have
enjoyed working with various
industries in the Supply Chain,
Transport and Logistics sectors - it
has been a natural destiny for me.
As an academic, I actively engage
in students’ learning and teaching
support course design, development,
delivery and undertaking research.
I am passionate and have been
enjoying teaching, mentoring and
supporting our next generations
learning and development
while cultivating their passion in
contributing to the industries as
well as and industry fellows’ further
development.
The other side to the excitement
of choosing academic as my
career is that I have opportunities
to continue researching and
developing innovative frameworks,
models and practical solutions that
positively impact on the industrial
growth and policy development
which are sustainable and resilient.
For example, I have been working
closely with various industry sectors
such as transport, visitor economy,
international education, retail
supply chain, social procurement,
infrastructure etc. and government
policy makers (state, national, and
international wide) on Supply Chain
and Logistics through various
research projects, conferences and
workshops. I am currently leading
six projects (2 funded by Australia
Government, 2 by State Government,
1 by State Government and Industry,
1 by an International Foundation) and
the industries for projects are varied,
but all contribute to the planetary
health towards sustainability;
optimisation, social impact,
digitalisation transformation, diversity
and inclusion). The achievements are
the entire team’s work with strong
support from the university, external
collaborators and communities. I am
very grateful for their support.
