has opened Mello on
the Beach (105 39th Street,
Holmes Beach), a mod new
beachfront retreat on Anna
Maria Island on Florida’s gulf coast.
Situated directly on the island’s Manatee
Beach, the eclectic Mello on the Beach offers
11 one-, two- and three-bedroom vacation
rental units, each vibrantly decorated
to reflect the colors of the sun, sea, and
sunset. With a fun and funky retro vibe,
the secluded escape is a perfect spot for
beachgoers, families, couples, and solitary
souls to “Mello” out amid the island’s lush
landscapes, just steps from the sandy white
beach. Mello on the Beach is owned by
Tampa-based Dahl Investments and managed
by Mainsail Vacation Rentals.
“Mello on the Beach is thoroughly modern,
but was created with a unique nostalgic
look and feel that enhances the coastal
charm of Anna Maria Island, making it an
ideal spot to relax and recharge,” said Bryan
Zinober of Dahl Investments. “Our vision
was to design something that perfectly
fits the island but is unlike anything else
in the market; a place where guests can
set their own pace, feel at home, and lose
themselves in a carefree Florida vacation.”
With playful names such as Sol Mate, Hip
Nautic, and Vitamin Sea, the units offer a
fully equipped kitchenette with refrigerator,
dishwasher, stove, dishware, blender, coffeemaker,
and toaster. Adaptable to fit the
needs of the guest, all units include a terrazzo
dining table that doubles as storage,
movable ottomans, and a sleeper sofa in the
living area. Units also feature full dressers
with an in-drawer safe, hidden washer and
dryer, exposed shelves and hanging rods,
and a cooler for beach and pool days. Depending
on which unit they choose, guests
can lounge and unwind on the front terrace
and either their own personal patio, balcony,
or porch. Some units also feature ocean
views, a private outdoor shower, and dedicated
luggage storage space.
Property amenities include a pool area
with cool places to lounge and an outdoor
shower; communal BBQ grills and fire pit; a
lawn with private beach access and room for
games and hanging out; and Mello bike rentals
to explore the island using the convenient
Zybra app. Guests can also bring their fourlegged
friends as the property is pet-friendly.
“Whether exploring by foot, bike, car or
trolley, guests will find lots to see and do
around Mello on the Beach, from casual
coastal dining to shopping and eco-excursions,”
added Andrew Houghton, Managing
Partner of Mainsail Vacation Rentals.
“Sarasota and Bradenton are nearby, with
everything from aquariums and botanical
gardens to adventure courses and other
family-friendly activities.”
Located in Holmes Beach, the new vacation
rental destination has a decades-old
history on the island, having provided a
quiet retreat to guests since 1975, first
as Aquarius Beach Resort and later as
Anna Maria Island Resort. Now a unique
vacation experience, Mello on the Beach
underwent a complete redesign and rebuild
to create a whole new personality and a
friendly, hip and youthful atmosphere. The
location also provides easy access around
the seven-mile island, where guests will
