About the UNH Alumni Entrepreneur Hall of Fame
Welcome to the sixth annual induction of alumni entrepreneurs into the
University of New Hampshire Alumni Entrepreneur Hall of Fame! We are proud
to celebrate the accomplishments of this cohort of distinguished alumni
inductees and the ideas, innovation, and entrepreneurship that run deep in
the DNA of UNH graduates.
The Alumni Entrepreneur Hall of Fame was established in 2018 with a
generous gift from an anonymous alumni donor and is housed within the
UNH Entrepreneurship Center (ECenter) on campus. UNH has over 10,000
alumni who have founded, co-founded, or run their own businesses. The
Alumni Entrepreneur Hall of Fame celebrates not only the significant success
of our alumni, but the values of public service and community that set them
apart from their peers.
Selection into the UNH Alumni Entrepreneur Hall of Fame is based upon the
criteria of alumni who have achieved entrepreneurial success with ventures as
a founder, co-founder, or owner, and have given back to the community in a
meaningful way. The definition of “ventures” includes economic or social value
in for-profit and non-profit entities.
This year we are adding another award category, the ECenter Champion.
This person has been instrumental to the mission and vision of the ECenter
bringing entrepreneurship and innovation to UNH students. The ECenter
Champion has worked tirelessly to ensure the ECenter has necessary support
from a variety of stakeholders for a robust, high-impact student experience.

Andre Beaupre ‘75
Co-founder
Soulful Advantage
Andre’s career spans corporate,
communications agency, non-profit,
higher-ed and deep entrepreneurial
experience.
With his life and business partner
Karen Ann St. Laurent Beaupre, he
co-founded Beaupre & Co., a national
communications firm ultimately acquired
by Brodeur Partners and Omnicom
Group, Inc., a New York Stock Exchange
Fortune 200 company.
Beaupre & Co. measurably increased
brand loyalty and valuation for hundreds
of clients. Nearly 50 were acquired in
M&A (merger and acquisition) deals by such technology industry giants as
IBM, Cisco, Oracle, Microsoft, HP, Verizon, Symantec, Canon, Saint-Gobain and
Dassault Systemes.
In 2017, he co-founded Soulful Advantage, a strategic consultancy at the
intersection of purpose and profit. The firm helps businesses authentically
expand social impact, increase stakeholder support, improve workplace
culture, meaningfully communicate purpose and gain competitive advantage
He is the author of The Purposeful Nine (2021), a best-selling business book
that tells the stories of nine inspirational business leaders, why they became
more purposeful and how it created remarkable competitive advantage.
His passionate collaboration with UNH includes Board positions with the
UNH Sustainability Institute Advisory Board (current) and UNH Foundation.
Across two decades, he provided pro bono communications counsel to
UNH Presidents and Communications leaders. Andre and Karen created the
Beaupre Entrepreneurial Scholarship, supporting Somersworth High School
students attending UNH. He earned a B.A. in Communications from UNH in
1975.

Erik Dodier ‘92
Co-founder and CEO
RafterONE
Erik Dodier is Co-founder and CEO of RafterOne. RafterOne is a 500+ person
Salesforce partner specializing in delivering multi-cloud commerce solutions
in the Retail, Technology, and Manufacturing industries. Clients include
Skechers, iRobot, Palo Alto Networks, Sage, Anderson Windows and LL Bean.
RafterOne today is a Summit level partner for Salesforce, their highest level
partner status.
Prior to founding RafterOne (originally named PixelMEDIA) in 1994, Erik
worked at Cabletron Systems in the area Sales and Training. He has a
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a Minor in Psychology from
the Paul College at UNH. Erik has served on several boards, including Optima
Bank, 3S Artspace, and UNH’s Paul College Advisory Board. Erik spends
summer weekends on NH lakes, and winter weekends skiing in the White
Mountains of NH. He lives in the seacoast with wife Rachel, 2 children, and 2
dogs.

Jill Gravink, ‘86 & ‘07
Founder and Executive
Director
Northeast Passage
Jill Gravink is the Founder and Executive Director of Northeast Passage, a
nationally recognized leader in the field of recreational therapy and adaptive
sports.
In 1990 Jill founded Northeast Passage as a private not for profit, and in 2000,
after years of successful collaboration, merged Northeast Passage with the
University of New Hampshire to become a service and research branch within
the College of Health and Human Services. Jill also serves as a Clinical Faculty
member within the Recreation Management and Policy Department.
Throughout her career Jill has focused Northeast Passage programs in ways
that promote health, happiness, and community engagement for people with
disabilities. She has also worked to advance the fields of recreational therapy
and adaptive sports through research and development of best practice
models.

David Hallal ‘88
Co-founder, Chairman, and
CEO of ElevateBio
David Hallal is Co-founder, chairman, and CEO of ElevateBio as well as chairman
of AlloVir, an ElevateBio portfolio company. Hallal is a 30-year veteran in the
biopharmaceutical industry with expertise in early-stage company-building as
well as operating large multinational biotech companies. He is also active with
several additional boards, including serving as chairman of Scholar Rock and
iTeos Therapeutics and as the lead independent director of Seer Biosciences.
David is also an advisor at MPM Capital.
Previously, David spent more than a decade at Alexion Pharmaceuticals,
an S&P 500 company, as chief executive officer, chief operating officer and
chief commercial officer. Prior to Alexion, he held leadership positions at
biopharmaceutical companies including Amgen and Biogen.
David currently serves on the UNH Foundation board. His motivation to join the
foundation board was motivated by the ambitious strategic plan that President
Dean has laid out for the future of UNH. Through the impact of President
Dean’s leadership over the past 5+ years and working professionally with
colleagues who hold advanced degrees from UNH, he has recently increased his
engagement with his alma mater. David is particularly interested in the steps
UNH is taking to advance itself in biomedical research and education of both
undergraduate and graduate students in that area.
David Hallal holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology.

Dr. Phillips is Managing Partner and
CTO at 3EDGE Asset Management,
LP. He is a member of the investment
committee and responsible for all of
the firm’s operations including the
investment modeling platforms. Dr.
Phillips’ career spans financial services
and engineering/enterprise software
companies.
Prior to 3EDGE, Bob was acting CTO
at HBX, the Harvard Business School
online education platform, SVP at
Windhaven Investment Management,
EVP & CTO at Windward Investment
Management, and Senior Vice
President at Fidelity Investments where he was responsible for managing all
electronic platforms including redesigning NetBenefits, which provides online
services for more than 13 million benefit plan participants. He has helped start
and grow several other entrepreneurial ventures including TurnRight Advice
Solutions, What-if-I Financial, ICAD and Concentra.
Bob holds several patents and has brought to market many award-winning
tools including product configuration software and automation techniques
for the design of aircraft engine components.
Bob has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics/physics from the University
of New Hampshire, a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the
University of Rochester, a master’s degree in engineering physics from the
University of Virginia and a doctoral degree in mechanical engineering from
Pennsylvania State University. Bob is the recipient of the Distinguished
Alumnus award from the University of New Hampshire’s College of
Engineering and Physical Sciences and is the former chair of the CEPS
Advisory Board. He currently chairs the UNH Foundation Board as well as the
ECenter Advisory Task Force.
