The heights,
number of
rods and space
between them,
can all be fitted
to your specific
needs. Top
rails can be
made to pull
down, which
maximises
hanging space
and keeps them
easily in reach.
adding some clever additions and styling
can make a significant difference. For
example, does your wardrobe have
lighting installed and is the design
colour coordinated? Or if home space
is limited, a built-in ironing board can
solve the problem of storing a bulky item,
with the benefit of having it accessible,
conveniently close and ready to use too…
Let’s start with the first thing
you see
The doors. These can be hinged, opening
outwards, or sliding to offer a modern
sleek look that takes up less space.
Different looks can then be stylishly
created just by changing the materials
used or adding relief surrounds. Mirrored
doors can make a room feel larger,
provide a useful full-length mirror and
can also be a good option if there is
no space for a separate dressing area.
Glass doors, although not for everyone,
then offer a very different look and feel,
allowing you to display or peruse your
favourite accessories whilst keeping your
clothing organised and easily visible.
And for those with more space, elegant
doors can also provide a screen for builtin
closets where seating, vanity units and
custom storage options can be included to
meet your every need.
Getting organised
A good, well designed hanging space is
key and a fully fitted wardrobe means
you have choice! The heights, number
of rods and space between them, can
all be fitted to your specific needs. Top
rails can be made to pull down, which
maximises hanging space and keeps them
easily in reach. And what about a pullout
valet rod? Would it make mornings
easier if you could lay out your outfit the
day before? Or perhaps a favourite outfit
could be kept on display behind a glass
wardrobe door?
The storage options in a wardrobe are
used in two ways; to openly display
for viewing and easy selection, or to
hide items from sight. Hidden storage
options include pull out drawers or
cupboards, and shelving units that
can be fitted with some great drawer
organisers to help to keep things tidy.
In comparison, the inclusion of shoe
shelves, pull out show racks and cubbies
offer easy viewing, quick organising and
fast selection options.
Customisable shelving, especially if it is
adjustable, is another essential part of
fitted wardrobe design. With shelving
materials ranging from metal, wood or
stylish laminates, they can be created
to blend in, or to form a feature piece
addition to the room décor.
Unique and just for you
The options are boundless. Have you
considered built in lighting? Including
recessed lighting, LED strips, or even
motion activated lights instantly changes
the overall look and feel. Or add a
selection of customised accessories such as
jewellery organisers, belt and tie racks to
make your space feel even more personal.
These ideas are just the tip of the iceberg
when it comes to bedroom design!
