<strong>Inclusion</strong>?<br />
At <strong>the</strong> end of 2020 (dur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> height of <strong>the</strong> Covid-19<br />

Brita<strong>in</strong> whe<strong>the</strong>r <strong>the</strong>y had taken any specific actions<br />
on <strong>Diversity</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Inclusion</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>workplace</strong>.<br />
At <strong>the</strong> time, just 3 <strong>in</strong> 10 bus<strong>in</strong>esses had undertaken<br />
some form of <strong>Diversity</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Inclusion</strong> action, such as<br />
develop<strong>in</strong>g a formal <strong>Diversity</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Inclusion</strong> policy or<br />
conduct<strong>in</strong>g <strong>Diversity</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Inclusion</strong> tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g for all<br />
staff.<br />
Now, three years later, Savanta wants to know if<br />
th<strong>in</strong>gs have changed <strong>and</strong> if <strong>the</strong>re is a greater focus<br />
towards <strong>the</strong>se <strong>in</strong>itiatives <strong>and</strong> a greater <strong>in</strong>fluence on<br />
decision-mak<strong>in</strong>g policies.<br />

In summary<br />
Overall, <strong>the</strong> research shows that <strong>the</strong>re is an <strong>in</strong>creas<strong>in</strong>g number of<br />
bus<strong>in</strong>esses adopt<strong>in</strong>g <strong>Diversity</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Inclusion</strong> (D&I) policies <strong>and</strong><br />
actions. However, this still accounts for less than a third of all<br />
bus<strong>in</strong>esses <strong>in</strong> Great Brita<strong>in</strong>.<br />
The proportion is even lower for male bus<strong>in</strong>ess owners <strong>and</strong> those<br />
bus<strong>in</strong>ess owners aged 65+.<br />
Overall, we are go<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> right direction, but more effort <strong>and</strong><br />
