ISSUES:
Yahya Sinwar, the Gaza-Hamas leader, was given 4 life
sentences for killing 2 Israeli soldiers and 4 Palestinians.
He served 22 years. In 2011 he and 1,026 others were
swapped for one Israeli soldier.
In September 2015, the U.S. designated him a terrorist.
Benjamin Netanyahu has been prime minister of Israel
from 1996 -1999, from 2009 -2021, and since 2022.
The Israeli–Palestinian conflict, is one of the world's
longest-continuing conflicts.
Since 1983, prisoner swaps have been a bit lopsided.
On October 7 th , the United States had no ambassadors
to Israel, Egypt, Oman, or Kuwait.
The U.N. General Assembly has voted to demand an
immediate humanitarian ceasefire.
