Celebrating 110 years!
There is much to celebrate at Moreton Hall as
the independent school, nestled on the edge
of the Berwyn Hills near the English-Welsh
border in Shropshire, embarks upon its 110
year anniversary.

school, nestled on the edge of the Berwyn Hills near the English-
Welsh border in Shropshire, embarks upon its 110 year anniversary.
The small but idiosyncratic school is recognised as one of the UKs
leading boarding and day schools offering a first class education in a
joyful and creative family environment, to girls aged 3 months to 18
years and boys 3 months to 13 years.
Following the success of being awarded independent Boarding
School of the Year in 2021, at the start of the new school year
Moreton Hall were announced as finalists in further national
prestigious awards. The nomination for the Independent Schools
of the Year Performing Arts, Music and Drama category recognised
Moreton Hall’s impressive and dynamic creative arts programme
with local community initiatives such as the Face2Face Performance
Academy and opportunities for musicians with the North Shropshire
Music Orchestra and Training Orchestra all recognised.
Furthermore, teacher of Music and Vocal Coach Mrs Ellie Diack
has been shortlisted in the Music and Drama Education Awards
recognising her passion for nurturing young talent, her dedication to
the community, her commitment to the well-being of her students and
the remarkable impact she has had on enriching the lives of others
through the realms of music.
The nomination for the Talk Education Innovation Awards for
ADVERTISING FEATURE
Business and Entrepreneurship, celebrates the school’s ethos that
Moreton means Business, with initiatives such as the in house,
Moreton Enterprises, run for the girls by the girls, the International
Women’s Day Business conference and the prestigious Moreton Hall
Business Lunch all putting entrepreneurship at the heart of the school
community. Talk Education commented “We’re rewarding schools
who are forging boldly ahead with new, revolutionary ideas which are
changing the face of independent education. Schools who are not
just thinking outside the box, but setting fire to it and then building
something new, cleverer, better.
On the sports pitch earlier in the year, Moreton Hall enjoyed record
breaking success at the National Schools Lacrosse and the senior
team were crowned ‘Queens of the North’ status and finalists in
the National Schools Lacrosse championships, the first time in the
tournament’s history a school from the north had made it to the finals.
This comes in the year that the school’s great sport will be played
at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, and Moreton Hall’s Lacrosse
Coach, William Baxter, has been selected to represent Great Britain in
the Super Sixes Tournament in Hong Kong and compete on the world
