We’re excited to hear that Balfour Winery have opened a new restaurant,
The Winemakers’ Kitchen, at their breathtakingly beautiful Hush
Heath Estate (England’s only gold-medal winning vineyard, thanks to
VisitEngland). The tempting menu is a collaboration between head
winemaker, Fergus Elias and head chef, Dan Austin – expect delicious
seasonal, local produce perfectly paired with their award-winning
wines, proving ‘what grows together, goes together’. Drink in the
incredible surroundings, huge skies and gently sloping vineyards
surrounded by orchards and ancient woodland. There’s even a
free shuttle bus running approximately every 20 minutes from
Marden train station every weekend during the winery’s
opening hours (10am-6pm). No need to pre-book the bus,
just hop on board for a five minute ride to Hush Heath.
The Winemakers’ Kitchen is open for lunch 12pm-
3pm Wednesday to Saturday and 12pm-4pm
on Sundays. From 13th January there will be
Dinner Service from 7pm-10.30pm.

was ‘just’ an ordinary housewife,
when she clearly wasn’t? Agatha went
surfing in Hawaii, loved fast cars,
and was intrigued by the new science
of psychology, which helped her
through devastating mental illness. So
why – despite all the evidence to the
contrary – did she present herself as
a retiring Edwardian lady of leisure?
Sharing her research based on the
writer’s personal letters and papers,
Lucy will uncover the real Agatha
Christie – the story of a person who,
despite the obstacles of class and
gender, became an astonishingly
successful working woman.
