Hi, We are Mr. Brush TM and Ms. Paint TM
Our family is excited to take you on a tour of our most popular products in the education market. We have lots of options and
have developed products for all levels at a variety of price points.
Basic Brush Care
• Encourage students to dampen the brush BEFORE
they start painting. When you load a dry brush with
wet color, the color almost instantly begins to dry
in the center of the bristles down near the ferrule. By
dampening the bristles, the colors are less likely to dry
in the center. Do not just dip the brush into the
water and then go into the color. You need to work the
moisture into the hair of the brush. Work the brush
in the palm of your hand, forcing the moisture into
the bristles. Pat the brush on a towel to remove excess
moisture before dipping into color. Use appropriate
medium with oil colors in place of water.
• Never place brushes loaded with color aside and
allow the color to dry in hair. It is best to wash the
brushes immediately when done using them, even if
the brush is only going to be inactive for a few minutes.
• Do not place the brushes in water for extended periods.
• Do not bang the brush head against the bottom
of the water bowl. Gently swish the brush back
and forth in the bowl and allow it to brush against the
sides or bottom. Brush basins with rounded,
textured bottoms are perfect for aiding the process.
• After washing the brush in the bowl, check to see if any
color remains in the hair by brushing across a paper
towel. If color appears on the towel, you still have
washing to do.
• When you are done using the brushes, take
them to the sink and wash them thoroughly.
Use a mild soap and gently massage the bristles
with your fingers and work the bristles in the palm of
your hand. It is hair so do not use harmful
products or treat the bristles any differently
than you would treat your own hair.
• When storing natural haired brushes for the summer
or long periods, dip the brushes in shampoo, wipe the
excess, reshape the head, and allow the brush to dry.
This will seal the hairs and eliminate possibility
the of mites getting to the hairs.
• Be gentle when using cake paints. Coarse
scrubbing can permanently damage the
hairs and force paint into the ferrule.
• Occasionally use brush conditioner to keep
the hairs from drying out and breaking.
