Pittwater leads the ‘charge’

Pittwater is leading the
way in national sustainable
boating with The
Quays Marina at Bayview
the first on-water location in
Australia to install electric
boat fast chargers.
It follows increased enquiry
from boating enthusiasts looking
for sustainable vessels,
including hybrid boats, and the
impending arrival of local specialist
boat dealership Eyachts’
eagerly anticipated new range
of fully electric RAND boats.
The Quays Marina – a private
marina with 106 berths and
69 moorings that are leased to
customers – has long been an
iconic destination for boating
enthusiasts.
Teaming with Eyachts and
renewables leader Seavolt, the
introduction of the new fast
boat chargers has elevated the
marina’s status as a trailblazing,
environmentally conscious
centre for boating.
Eyachts General Manager Ross
Turner said the innovative addition
would empower boaters to seamlessly dock, recharge
and embark on their on-water adventures with minimal delay
– all while embracing a clean and green energy source.
The Quays have also made further substantial investments
in sustainability, boasting 200 solar panels that
generate a remarkable 600kWh of energy daily, effectively
powering the entire marina during daylight hours.
The marina recently installed four electric fast car
chargers by Seavolt, which harness solar energy, further
reducing their carbon footprint and promoting eco-friendly
transportation options.
Ross said Seavolt was leading the charge in the electric boating
revolution.
“Seavolt is a company committed to building
electric charging marine networks Australiawide,”
he said. “Their goal is to usher boat owners,
marina operators, commercial enterprises,
and governments into an era of zero-emission
vessels.”
He added Seavolt offered a range of zeroemission
charging solutions, powered by 100
per cent renewable electricity, and incorporated
off-grid solar and battery storage systems
whenever possible.
Eyachts, based at The Quays Marina, has
been instrumental in forging these partnerships
and pioneering opportunities for sustainable
boating.
“Our electric boat fleet includes brands like
RAND, Axopar and Greenlines, which showcase
the future of eco-friendly boating,” Ross said.
“RAND, for instance, leads the pack with its
100 per cent electric day boats and is on track
to become the most eco-friendly mainstream
boat brand.
“The Axopar x Evoy series
combines electric efficiency
with exhilarating performance,
earning accolades
like the Gussies Electric Boat
Award.
“And the Greenline Yachts
range redefines sustainable
cruising, blending hybrid electric
propulsion with traditional
boating to offer eco-friendliness
without sacrificing adventure.”
He added the first fully
electric RAND Supreme 27 was
arriving in Pittwater in coming
months and would be based at
the Quays Marina.
