Quick Checklist for<br />
the Groom<br />
In preparing for the <strong>wedding</strong> the<br />
groom does play a huge part. Bride<br />
and Groom would like to give you<br />
some advice and tips in preparing<br />
for your <strong>wedding</strong>. First and<br />
foremost you should understand that<br />
planning a <strong>wedding</strong> can be stressful<br />
on the bride and therefore, be<br />
patient and help her along the way.<br />
If you have any <strong>issue</strong>s with the plans,<br />
talk it over with your fiancée, calmly.<br />
This may be the first event that both<br />
the bride’s and groom’s families are<br />
organizing together, so there might<br />
be differences in<br />
opinions/expectations. Try to strike<br />
a balance between different<br />
ideas/requirements; it can be a<br />
great relationship building practice<br />
with the in-laws-to-be if it is handled<br />
diplomatically!<br />
Work out and be in good shape,<br />
make a plan to do exercises as you<br />
count down months to the <strong>wedding</strong> –<br />
you would look smart and handsome<br />
on the <strong>wedding</strong> day. Organize your<br />
<strong>wedding</strong> attendants’ (best man /<br />
men, paige boy) attire, early. You<br />
may get the jitters on the <strong>wedding</strong><br />
day, its normal to feel so. Remember<br />
to smile with your bride<br />
throughout the <strong>wedding</strong> ceremony.<br />
It is best that you do not consume<br />
alcohol on your <strong>wedding</strong> day or the<br />
day before.<br />
The List<br />
Together with the bride-to-be<br />
decide the budget and on the<br />
choice <strong>of</strong> – invitation cards, venue,<br />
menu, music, decorations<br />
Organize, write and send out invites<br />
to those on the <strong>wedding</strong>/home<br />
coming guest list<br />
Attend to religious matters if<br />
required<br />
Choose and buy <strong>wedding</strong> rings<br />
Book and/or pay for honeymoon<br />
Choose your <strong>wedding</strong> attendants –<br />
best man /men, paige boy<br />
Organize your tuxedo / attire and<br />
accessories early (including<br />
<strong>wedding</strong> attendants’)<br />
Make sure the best man will organize<br />
a best man’s speech and have<br />
it ready for the <strong>wedding</strong><br />
Organize transport to and from the<br />
<strong>wedding</strong> venue<br />
If you plan to have a bachelor<br />
party, hold it at least a week before<br />
the <strong>wedding</strong> avoid doing anything<br />
about which you would regret later<br />
Assign work duties to a colleague<br />
for the <strong>wedding</strong> day and while you<br />
are away on honeymoon<br />
Check that the best man has the<br />
rings on the <strong>wedding</strong> day<br />
Avoid taking work-related calls<br />
during <strong>wedding</strong> and switch <strong>of</strong>f<br />
mobile when on honeymoon!<br />
