Each season brings a variety of different events and festivals to enjoy. Look below at a typical year.<br />

As events and festivals are announced they will be added to the website visitwiltshire.co.uk/whats-on<br />

Spring<br />

Head to Melksham for a family friendly town festival with<br />

music, food vendors and entertainment. Enjoy a selection of<br />

gins at the Chippenham gin festival which will also family fun<br />

afternoon session. Highworth May Day which will include<br />

traditional Morris dancing. So, plenty to whet your appetite.<br />

Salisbury International Arts Festival: The festival will feature<br />

a diverse programme of music, theatre, film, dance, spoken<br />

word, visual arts, family and free events, created by Wiltshire<br />

Creative’s Artistic Director Gareth Machin, Associate Artist<br />

violinist Harriet Mackenzie, and Festival Producer Lucy Babb,<br />

alongside a team of associate curators.<br />

Corsham Walking Festival: Corsham’s Walking Festival,<br />

catering for a wide range of walking enthusiasts and abilities<br />

walks vary in distance from 1.5 to 16.5 miles that go from Easy<br />

through Moderate to Challenging.<br />

Summer<br />

Bradford on Avon Food and Drink Festival:<br />

A festival celebrating everything that is wonderful about food<br />

and drink.<br />

Chalke History Festival:<br />

The largest festival in the UK dedicated entirely to history.<br />

Marlborough College Summer School:<br />

With over 500 courses encompassing the creative arts,<br />

history, science, body and mind, life skills, sport and<br />

country pursuits.<br />

Autumn<br />

Check the website for up-to-date details for spooky Halloween<br />

events! From pumpkin picking at the farm to ghoulishly good days<br />

out in historic surroundings!<br />

Longleat Sky Safari: Longleat’s hot air balloon festival. The skies<br />

above the estate will come to life with all the vibrant colours of<br />

the rainbow as hot air balloons take to the air in an astounding<br />

procession.<br />

Visit Wiltshire’s houses and gardens for stunning autumn colour –<br />

Visit National Trust Stourhead, Bowood House & Gardens and<br />

Westonbirt for stunning colours.<br />

Marlborough Litfest: The festival includes fiction, non-fiction,<br />

poetry events, workshops, debut novelists, award-winning<br />

established names, children’s authors and more!<br />

Winter<br />

Bonfire and firework celebrations throughout Wiltshire:<br />

November – January. Selected dates check website for dates.<br />

Longleat Festival of Light: The illuminating lantern spectacle<br />

will see hundreds of silk-strewn scenes and digital installations<br />

embellishing the ornate Longleat Estate once more, bringing the<br />

spirit of the festive season to lustrous light.<br />

Lantern Parades: in Devizes and Salisbury.<br />

Pantomime at Salisbury Playhouse & Wyvern Theatre.<br />

Various dates throughout November and December:<br />

Christmas Light switch on and Christmas Fayres around Wiltshire,<br />
