Alle Probleme lösen sollte ein Entwurf, den Max Bill, Gründungsmitglied und Direktor der Hochschule, auf einer Papierserviette ersann. Der Ulmer Hocker, von den Studierenden selbst und dem Hausmeister der HfG aus drei Brettern heimischen Nadelholzes (Fichte), einer Querstange und Kantenverstärkungen aus robusterem Buchenholz gefertigt, ist ein echtes Multitalent. Ob als flexible Sitzgelegenheit in zwei Höhen, Stehpult-Aufsatz, Trittleiter oder (umgedreht) als Transporthilfe für Bücher und Unterlagen, der Allrounder begeistert auch heute noch.
