Halfway between a laser-pointer and a light saber,
these babies are visible for up to thirty (30) miles at night!
Firefighters have used signal
mirrors forever, but they only
work during the day.
A laser flare works any time...
The one I use, made by Greatland Laser, was
designed by an Alaskan Bush Pilot. It has been
used successfully as a S.O.S. device and is highly
regarded by search and rescue pros.
“We got your green ping the pilot said on on the the radio.
What the hell do you have the IC asked…?”
The Rescue Laser Flare is one of the best and simplest tools I have ever used. Being
able to provide your location to aircraft and resources quickly and efficiently has been
amazing. I also used the rescue laser to conduct fire line briefings during night shift to
point out items to ensure all personnel were up to date with exact location of hazards
or objectives.
Hand-held or compact, we have a laser for every need.
Earth Day 2024 is “Planet vs. Plastics” to combat
plastic pollution for the sake of human and planetary
health. The worldwide goal is to achieve a 60% reduction
in plastic production by 2040 and ultimately
create a plastic-free future for generations to come.
CENTER FOR OUTDOOR ETHICS
At Greatland Laser, we switched from
plastic clamshell packaging for our
laser flares to environmentally friendly
rigid boxes in 2022. Reducing our
plastic consumption in other areas is
an ongoing goal.
