What is your pension pot worth?
Do you have £250,000 or more in pensions?
When you receive a statement from your
provider, this might seem like a sizeable
amount, but do you know what it translates to
in terms of your retirement income? Andrew
Boulton (right) of Dronfield-based independent
financial planners, Belmayne, explains
R
ETIREMENT is a huge decision and one you only want
to make once, so you absolutely have to get it right.
The last thing you want to do is hotfoot it back to work
because you’ve run out of money, or compromise your
lifestyle because the price of everything has increased so
dramatically.
Do you actually know when you’ll be able to stop work or
reduce your hours? What kind of lifestyle will the money you
have saved afford you and how long will it last? Finding the
answers to these questions can sometimes feel overwhelming –
after all, you still have a day job to do – and it’s easy to put
them on the backburner until you have more headspace.
Being unsure about what your pensions will provide may also
mean you end up working longer than necessary, missing out
on the things you want to do and the places you want to go, at a
time when you’re still feeling fit and able.
So, what’s the answer? It’s simple really. Don’t put off finding
the information you need any longer. Ask an expert to help and
look forward to your retirement.
I will give you clarity and a goal to strive towards by putting a
clear financial plan in place. We will talk about your retirement
so we both understand what ‘good’ looks like for you.
We might even find you can stop working now, or some time
soon, or maybe drop to part-time hours in the meantime.
Whatever you decide, there isn’t a problem we can’t solve
together. I will give you a structured, evidence-based plan in
which you can have confidence and I will be here to support
you all the way.
