meetings
The Northern Beaches Branch
of the Retired and Former
Police Association (RFPA)
holds bi-monthly meetings at
the Manly Warringah Leagues
Club. The upcoming meeting
is scheduled for 11am on
Thursday, May 23. Retired
and former police officers,
along with their wives or
partners, are welcome.
These gatherings provide
an opportunity to reconnect
with old colleagues, forge
new friendships, and enjoy
the camaraderie of likeminded
individuals. After
the meeting, participants
can share a meal at the
Club’s bistro. In addition to
regular meetings, the group
organises coffee catch-ups,
lunches and outings. Notably,
last year’s outings included
visits to the new Western
Sydney Airport and the
NSWPF Aviation Command
based at Bankstown

Cicada Glen Nursery – a beautiful secret
garden at Ingleside surrounded by
gardens and heritage trees – is the oldest
continuous nursery on the Northern Beaches.
The team at Cicada Glen – Fran, Tim
R, Tim L and Michael – are all qualified
horticulturists who are passionate about
Australian plants and their use in gardens.
Each month in Pittwater Life, these experts
will deliver the latest gardening tips and
information to help readers get the most out
of their gardens.
They can all help with garden advice and
consults from local natives, dry land and
rainforest species, including supplying
landscapers and implementing garden
design.
Cicada Glen specialises in Australian
native plants, in particular hardy east coast
natives, rainforest plants as well as a range
of unusual natives that you won’t find
anywhere else in Sydney.
