effrey Rayford Nunn was born July 11, 1968 to Charlie “Gator”
Nunn, and Patricia (Robinson) Nunn. Growing up, he loved
spending hours playing basketball, cooking, and listening to Hip-
Hop and Rap music.
After graduating from Cathedral High School in 1987, “The Flying Nunn,”
was recruited to play basketball at Massasoit Community College. Jeffrey was
always working to provide for the people he loved. He worked at a hardware
store and nursing home, before serving over thirty years in the public safety
industry.
He never liked to see people sad. As soon as he walked into a room, he
ensured each person laughed at one of his jokes or impersonations.
As Polo Ralph Lauren’s and Nike’s #1 customer, Jeffrey was known for his
style, and teaching others how to dress. When he wasn’t educating others on
how to properly pronounce words, so they’d sound fancier, he was giving back
to the community by coaching baseball, football, and basketball.
Jeffrey left us peacefully Friday, May 10, 2024, at Boston Medical Center.
He is survived by his mother, Patricia Nunn, his wife, Tracey Hicks, and his
children, Jeffrey “Jeff-Jeff” Nunn Jr. (Sheena), Jaida Nunn, Jakiya Hicks-
Nunn, and Rilee Burton. Additionally, he leaves five grandchildren, Chance
Sanderson, Jamal Haywood Jr., Jaiden Haywood, Ja’Niya Nunn, and Nyari
Farrell.
He lovingly filled the roles of son, father, husband, “G-Dad,” life-long
companion, uncle, cousin, father-figure, friend, brother from another
mother, role model, philosopher, and coach to many. He will be remembered,
missed, and loved forever.

He is Gone
You can shed tears that he is gone

Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see him
Or you can be full of the love that you shared
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday
You can remember him and only that he is gone
Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes, love
and go on.
