<strong>CCAC</strong> Alumni Launches 2011 <strong>CCAC</strong> Alumni Association<br />

In 2010, <strong>CCAC</strong> Alumni Affairs successfully launched the <strong>CCAC</strong> Alumni Association to improve the college’s relationship with<br />

alumni and to advance the mission of <strong>CCAC</strong>. More than 600 alumni joined the association in 2010.<br />

The Alumni Association offers programs, services and activities that provide professional and social networking opportunities<br />

while enhancing alumni connections with <strong>CCAC</strong> and each other.<br />

Annual membership dues for 2011 are $20 and include the following benefits:<br />

<strong>CCAC</strong> Alumni Association Member Rewards<br />

Card—This unique rewards card includes discounts for<br />

45 retail businesses within the greater Pittsburgh area.<br />

<strong>CCAC</strong> Rewards Website—<strong>CCAC</strong> Alumni<br />

Association members have access to online discounts and<br />

printable coupons for local and national businesses and<br />

services at www.ccacrewards.com.<br />

<strong>CCAC</strong> Federal Credit Union—<strong>CCAC</strong> Alumni<br />

Association members are eligible to join the credit union<br />

and have access to its entire range of financial products<br />

and services. Visit www.ccacfcu.com for more details.<br />

<strong>CCAC</strong> Campus Libraries Access—<strong>CCAC</strong> Alumni<br />

Association members are eligible to use the library<br />

facilities on each of <strong>CCAC</strong>’s four campuses.<br />

Venture Outdoors <strong>Community</strong> Membership<br />

Program—<strong>CCAC</strong> Alumni Association members are<br />

eligible to join Venture Outdoors for a 20% discount off<br />

the regular annual membership fee.<br />

Advanced Notice of Events—<strong>CCAC</strong> Alumni<br />

Association members receive advanced notice of selected<br />

college events and special offers. Payment may be made<br />

via check or money order, payable to the <strong>CCAC</strong> Alumni<br />

Association.<br />

Following receipt of the membership fee, please allow three weeks for membership processing. <strong>CCAC</strong> Alumni Association<br />

membership benefits materials, including a member ID card, will be mailed after membership processing is complete.<br />

<strong>CCAC</strong> Alumni Association Hosts Cocktail Reception<br />

On Thursday, November 18,<br />

members of the <strong>CCAC</strong> Alumni<br />

Association attended a cocktail<br />

reception in Byers Hall on<br />

<strong>CCAC</strong>’s Allegheny Campus.<br />

The invitation-only reception<br />

provided an opportunity for<br />

association members and their<br />

guests to meet fellow alumni,<br />

<strong>CCAC</strong> President Alex Johnson,<br />

PhD and members of the <strong>CCAC</strong><br />

Alumni Board.<br />

President of the Alumni Board,<br />

Betty Lyons (’93 & ’97, South) welcomed Alumni Association<br />

members home to <strong>CCAC</strong> and introduced the evening’s<br />

speakers. President Johnson shared information on the college’s<br />

enrollment while <strong>CCAC</strong> Trustee and Allegheny County<br />

Councilman William Russell Robinson provided an update on<br />

funding. Executive Director of the Frieda G. Shapira Center for<br />

Learning at <strong>CCAC</strong> Alice McKenna, PhD, highlighted <strong>CCAC</strong>’s<br />

past, present and future. Larry<br />

Gleason, president of the <strong>CCAC</strong><br />

Educational Foundation Board of<br />

Directors, provided an overview of<br />

the college’s fundraising arm.<br />

Catering was provided by<br />

McGinnis Sisters Special Food<br />

Stores and a dessert buffet was<br />

provided by AVI Foodsystems.<br />

<strong>CCAC</strong> Alumna Benita Johnson<br />

(’84, Allegheny) was the recipient<br />

of a door prize raffle basket, which<br />

included <strong>CCAC</strong> merchandise, four<br />

bottles of wine and a gift certificate for a free wine appreciation<br />

course through <strong>CCAC</strong> <strong>Community</strong> Education. <strong>CCAC</strong> alumni<br />

t-shirts were also raffled. All members of the association<br />

received a gift bag containing an alumni pen and pencil set, a<br />

<strong>CCAC</strong> alumni lapel pin, a history of <strong>CCAC</strong> DVD and the 2009<br />

<strong>CCAC</strong> Annual Report.<br />
