Quesnel's very own Ludo
band was selected for a
live performance at the
2004 Van's Warped Tour
Tuesday at UBC's Thunderbird
Stadium.
Ernie Ball's Battle of the
Bands Contest invited
B.C. bands to add their
site to the contest j^ebsite.
The public was asked to
go online and vote for
their favourite band.
Ludo member Brandon
Scott said they were really
late putting the band on
the website, but still managed
to garner enough
votes to be in the top foun
"The site was set up in
October but we didn't
manage to get on there
until April, almost the end
of the contest," he said.
Across North America,
more than 4,000 bands
were vying for the top
four spots in their geographic
area. Now Ludo
is looking for online
voters to pick them as the
top B.C. band. After the
performance on Tuesday,

will be available for online
voting.
"The performance at
Thunderbird Stadium will
give us provincial recognition,"
Scott said. "This is
the biggest venue we have
played so far."
The public can go to the
Ernie Ball website to vote
for their hometown band.

band will be flown to Los
Angeles where they will
play a Hollywood major
label showcase and have a
chance to begin a recording
career.
All five members of Ludo
hail from Quesnel and
have been playing in the
band for more than two
years.
With a CD already
on the market, Ludo
has launched three new
songs on their website

With Alex Nome as their
lead singer, Kellen Hein on
drums, Travis Hein and
Brandon Scott on guitar
and Cam Jones on bass,
Ludo is getting more and
more into melodic rock.
Immediately after the
Warped performance,
Ludo will be on the road
for a mini tour through
the Lower Mainland, the
Okanagan and into Alberta.
"The band is playing music
full time," Scott said.
"We will survive through
the success of Ludo."

Barker Days Festival,
Eddie deSouza has
re-released his Songwriters
of the Gold
Pan City.
Originally recorded
in 1992, the music
was released on cassette
only, but has
now been digitally remastered
and features
two bonus tracks by
DeSouza, Quesnel
My home, written in
20.03 and the official
Billy Barker Days
Festival Song written
in 1996.
The project features
11 local songwriters
performing their own
songs.
Eddie "Spaghetti"
deSouza will be performing
his rendition
of the Billy Barker
Days Festival Song
following the parade
on Saturday at
LeBourdais Park as
well as his regularly
scheduled children's
shows on Friday and
on the downtown
stage Thursday at
noon.
