The best phytonutrients come from organic farms
Why go to the trouble and expense of farming organic? Plants produce phytonutrients as
a defense mechanism against pests and disease. When crops are sprayed with chemicals
that defend the plants, they don’t have to work as hard to produce phytonutrients and the
result is less nutritious produce. On the flip side, plants raised organically have abundant
amounts of higher-quality phytonutrients.
Owning and maintaining control over our own NUTRILITE farms, ensures that our supplements
contain high-quality ingredients. Our crops are grown in accordance with nature, based on the
following nine principles.

3. THE PRESERVATION OF HABITATS
NUTRILITE ® farms require the preservation of natural ecological areas – on the farms and along roads
and waterways – to sustain native plant and animal species, and to limit erosion and water contamination.
4. WIDE-BASED SOIL NUTRITION
Nutrilite replenishes the soil, rather than depleting it, by maintaining it with natural materials.
We grow cover crops specific to the nutritional needs of the soil at each farm and create compost
from manure from the farm’s livestock to further enrich the earth.
5. NO CONTAMINATION
Nutrilite avoids the use of synthetic pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers. We also use natural,
environmentally friendly methods to control weeds, insects, and other harmful predators.
6. SEED PRESERVATION

7. TRACEABILITY
Nutrilite records every element ever added to or taken from the soil, to guarantee the quality

AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH FARM
California, USA
Our Agricultural Research Farm in Lakeview,
California, is the primary location where our
farm researchers work to improve existing
NUTRILITE ® products as well as identify
nutrients and active ingredients for new
products. Organic farming practices are also
developed and refined here.
Located on 111 acres that used to be a
prehistoric lake bed, the accumulated
nutrient-rich sediment contributes to the farm’s
fertile topsoil. By feeding the soil with compost
and by using carefully tested farming practices,
Nutrilite creates a better soil structure –
supplying crops with a vast array of nutrients.
PRIMARY CROPS
The Agricultural Research Farm produces pomegranates and rosemary, as well as many test crops.
As with all NUTRILITE farms, organic farming practices help to ensure that the phytonutrients in the

local volunteers from the community help raise
organic vegetables for their own use.
In addition, the Nutrilite Agricultural Research
Farm organizes programs with local schools,
bringing area students to the farm to grow crops

TROUT LAKE FARM
Washington state, USA
Measuring 700 acres, Trout Lake Farm is
the largest certified organic herb farm in
North America. Located in the foothills of the
Cascade Mountains, the farm’s irrigation is
provided by the White Salmon River, fed by
glaciers from the mountains.
Trout Lake valley where the farm is located is all
organic – there is no conventional farming in the
valley and the surrounding mountains help keep
out pollution and contaminants.

RANCHO EL PETACAL
Jalisco, Mexico
Rancho El Petacal, located in southwestern
Mexico, has the ideal growing climate with plenty
of sunshine and rainfall – the perfect conditions
for growing nutrient-rich plants for existing
NUTRILITE ® products, and for growing test
plots for research.
Located on 1,400 acres, which are all certified
100% organic, the farm is a major source of
jobs for the small community of El Petacal. Our
commitment to sustainability goes beyond the
fields of El Petacal. Reforestation programs
have helped increase biodiversity and maintain
the natural equilibrium of the area.

FAZENDA NUTRIORGANICA
Ubajara, Brazil
Fazenda Nutriorganica is the largest NUTRILITE ®
farm. The farm provides an ideal climate to
produce acerola cherries year-round. The
cherries grown there provide 100% of the natural
ascorbic acid (vitamin C) used in NUTRILITE
products. Over 300 head of cattle on the farm
provide natural fertilizer for the crops.
All 4,100 acres are certified 100% organic, and
most plant pest and disease problems are solved
preventively by providing balanced organic
nutrients to ensure strong, healthy growth.
