1957 (September): <strong>Calasanctius</strong> Preparatory <strong>School</strong> for the Gifted opened.<br />
Students ranged from the 9 th through 12 th grades.<br />
1957: <strong>The</strong> Piarists, who originally taught at the school, travelled daily from Derby<br />
to <strong>Buffalo</strong>.<br />
1960: <strong>The</strong> Piarists, who taught at the school, moved into a residence on the<br />
school property. <strong>The</strong> Piarist community of <strong>Buffalo</strong> officially opened.<br />
1972: <strong>The</strong> <strong>Calasanctius</strong> <strong>School</strong> began to accept students at the age of five years.<br />
1991 (June): <strong>The</strong> <strong>Calasanctius</strong> <strong>School</strong> closed.<br />
1991 (June): <strong>The</strong> Piarist community of <strong>Buffalo</strong> closed. <strong>The</strong> remaining Piarists<br />
moved to Assumption Parish in Lackawanna, <strong>NY</strong>.<br />

<strong>The</strong> campus included buildings at 120 Rumsey Road, 175 <strong>Windsor</strong> <strong>Avenue</strong>, <strong>167</strong> <strong>Windsor</strong> <strong>Avenue</strong> and<br />
161 <strong>Windsor</strong> <strong>Avenue</strong>. In addition, a multi-purpose building (lower school, dining room, library and<br />
gymnasium) was constructed behind 161 and <strong>167</strong> <strong>Windsor</strong> <strong>Avenue</strong>. After the school closed, the multipurpose<br />
building was demolished. <strong>The</strong> other properties were sold to individual home owners.
