THE GIVING TREE<br />
In these troubled times, each of us might<br />
show the spirit of Christmas by helping a family<br />
less fortunate than ourselves. The giving<br />
tree will be available starting the 2nd week in<br />
November. Gifts must be turned in by December<br />

All of us at the Senior Center would like to<br />
thank Driver, Bob Kogelmann, for the wonderful<br />
produce he has provided during the summer<br />
and fall. Thanks again, “Farmer Bob”!<br />

Improper Use of Medication<br />
Taking a prescription medication as directed<br />
by a doctor is generally safe and effective.<br />
Lately, though, there has been a rise in the<br />
number of older adults taking their medicines<br />
improperly, including for non-medical reasons<br />
and suffering the consequences with trips to<br />
the emergency room.<br />
Some people accidentally take medicines<br />
incorrectly, or they may forget to take their<br />
medicines, take it too often, or take the wrong<br />
amount. Another problem is having more<br />
than one doctor prescribing medication, but<br />
no one doctor monitoring them.<br />
It is important that you keep careful check<br />
on when you take your medicines, use a pill<br />
box,or a daily calendar to keep track. Also,<br />
don’t hesitate to discuss your medications<br />
with your doctor if you have any doubts, and<br />
whatever you do....don’t increase dosage<br />
without a doctor’s recommendation.<br />

not what they seem and everyone must make adjustments,<br />
but they learn a lot of interesting life lessons.<br />

p.m. The Searchers starring John Wayne, Jeffrey<br />
Hunter, Vera Miles and many more. A young girl is<br />
kidnapped by the Indians and her family massacred.<br />
Years later, her uncle shows up, learns of the tragedy,<br />
and decides to � nd her. He and her brother begin to<br />
search for her. The brother soon � nds that his uncle<br />
has darker intents.<br />

Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law as Sherlock and<br />
Dr. Watson. This isn’t anything like the old Basil<br />
Rathbone and Nigel Bruce movies. This is full of<br />
physical action, wonderful views of old London, and<br />
plenty of mystery.<br />
