24-HOUR MAJOR CRIME SUMMARY REPORT
September 7, 2012 - 6:01 a.m. to September 8, 2012 – 6:00 a.m.
NOTE: Each of the following summaries are allegations of incidents that have been
reported and are under investigation.
09/07/12 – 3:15 a.m.
CIRCUMSTANCES:
In the 8400 block of Joy Rd., the male victim (store owner), was inside his local business when he
heard that security alarm sounding. He armed himself and observed the male suspects inside the
location. The store owner fired shots, fatally wounding one suspect (John Doe, late teens – early
20’s), and critically wounding two other male suspects, aged 17 and 18. The fourth suspect was
not injured.
ARRESTED:
4 th Suspect: Black male, 18, 5’-7”, 150 lbs., brown eyes, black hair, dark complexion, and armed.

09/07/12 – 4:55 a.m.
CIRCUMSTANCE:
At Glendale and LaSalle, the male victim, aged 43, was seated in his parked vehicle when the
suspect approached demanding his vehicle. The suspect took the victims’ personal property, an
undisclosed amount of U.S. currency, and escaped in his vehicle (2003, Cadillac Deville).

09/07/12 – 1:33 p.m.
CIRCUMSTANCES:
In the 20100 block of Sorrento, the male victim, aged 33, was outside when an unknown suspect,
driving an older model vehicle pulled up, and began firing shots, at him striking him in the body.
The victim was listed in critical condition.

09/07/12 – 4:40 p.m.
CIRCUMSTANCES:
In the 1000 block Forest, the male victim, aged 26, was driving in the area, searching to purchase
narcotics from someone, when he was approached by the suspect, who demanded his property and
then fired shots. The victim received a gunshot wound to the body and was listed in temp-serious
condition. The suspect fled from the location with the victim’s personal property.

Suspect: Black male, teens, and armed.

09/07/12 – 6:35 p.m.
CIRCUMSTANCES:
In the 14500 block of Joy Rd., the male victim, aged 41, was approached by the suspect who
demanded his property. As they became involved in a physical altercation, the victim produced his
weapon, and fired a shot, striking the suspect in the body. The suspect was listed in critical
condition.

Suspect: Known Black male, 20.

CIRCUMSTANCES:
In the 4200 block of Larchmont, the male victim, aged 25, was involved in a verbal altercation over
money. The suspect produced a weapon and fired shots. The victim was struck in the body and
listed in critical condition.

09/07/12 – 8:00 p.m.
CIRCUMSTANCES:
In the 12700 block of Jefferson, the male victim, aged 27, was leaving a local store when he was
approached by two suspects, who demanded his property. The suspects escaped in the victims’
vehicle (1989, Chevy Caprice), along with his personal property. He was not injured.
WANTED:
Suspect: Two black males, and armed.

09/07/12 – 9:33 p.m.
CIRCUMSTANCES:
In the 12500 block of Gratiot, the male victim drove up to a drive-through window of a local
restaurant when the suspect approached, and ordered him out of the vehicle. The suspect escaped
in the victims’ vehicle (2011, Chevy Camaro SS). He was not injured.
WANTED:
Suspect: Armed. No further description.

09/07/12 – 9:45 p.m.
CIRCUMSTANCES:
In the 19800 block of Van Dyke, the male victim, aged 28, was exiting a local restaurant when the
suspect approached and fired shots. The victim was struck in the body and is listed in critical
condition.

CIRCUMSTANCES:
In the 16100 block of Woodingham, the male victim, aged 22, was delivering food items when he
was approached by the suspect, who began firing shots. The victim was struck in the body and was
listed in critical condition.

CIRCUMSTANCES:
At Gratiot and Whithorn, the female victim (Jane Doe), age 50-60, was found deceased in the
northbound curb lane on Gratiot.

09/08/12 – 12:25 a.m.
CIRCUMSTANCES:
In the 18600 block of Plymouth, the male victims, aged 20 and 21, were standing in the parking lot
of a local business with a group, of people, when the suspects drove up in a vehicle (blue, 2-door,
Saturn) and fired shots into the crowd. Both victims were struck in the in the body. The victim
(20) was listed in temp-serious condition, and the second victim was listed in critical condition.

CIRCUMSTANCES:
In the 15700 block of Wildemere, the male victim, aged 17, was outside in front of his home, when
the suspect drove a vehicle (grey, Chevy Impala) pass, and fired shots. The victim was struck in the
body and listed in critical condition.

CIRCUMSTANCES:
In the 9000 block of Brace, the male victim, aged 35, was outside his home, when he was
approached by three suspects, who demanded money. The suspects fled with the victims’ personal
property and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.
WANTED:
Suspect #1: Black male, 20’s, 5’-7”, 150 lbs., medium complexion, wearing a white tee-shirt, blue
jeans, Nike Air Force One gym shoes, and armed.
Suspect #2: Black male, 20’s, 5’-7”, 150 lbs., wearing a red tee-shirt, blue jean shorts, Nike Air
Force One gym shoes, and armed.
Suspect #3: Black male, 20’s, 5’-7”, 150 lbs., dark complexion, wearing a dark shirt, Nike Air
Force One gym shoes, ans armed.

09/08/12 – 2:15 a.m.
CIRCUMSTANCES:
In the 5300 block of E. Outer Drive, the male victim, aged 20, was found lying in the parking lot of
a local bar after patrons heard shots being fired. The victim has received gunshot wounds to the
body and was listed in critical condition.

Suspect: Armed.
