• Today IT face a new challenge, their users need more and 

more mobiles applications (email, CRM, ERP…) 

• The solution should support different networks : GSM, GPRS, EDGE, 

HSDPA, CDMA, WLAN, LAN, WAN, DSL…. 

• The security must be end to end and the same security level should 

be also applied on the mobile devices (anti-virus, encryption, VPN…)

• Nokia alone has shipped cumulatively 

more than 50 million S60 enabled 

devices by the end of February 2006. 

• Smartphone market is expected to 

continue its fast growth, reaching close to 

100 million units during 2006. According 

to Nokia estimation, bulk of this volume 

will be based on S60 3rd Edition. 

• 40 S60 devices have been launched. 

• The S60 Platform is licensed by some of
