Journalism nearby the Holy tomb of Sultan Murat There was another matter that followed this project from the beginning - the location where the project managers had decided to establish KIJAC. Based on the MoU, the MEST was about to find a location for this project, but, as noted above, the former Minister of Education, Rexhep Osmani, had suggested that they continue as an independent institution. Following this suggestion, the project managers decided to settle KIJAC in a facility that had once served as a storehouse of medications, 25 miles from Pristina, in the Mazgit village, which is best known for being close to a cultural monument – the Holy tomb of Sultan Murat.
The building that was selected was a large warehouse, not at all suitable for a school. This building required large investments and the location was not justified because of the long distance from the center of Pristina. However, the managers decided to make a costly investment, to convert a warehouse into a Journalism Faculty. The building was painted with 'happy' colors, pink and green, they built a TV cabinet that was almost the size of a local television, the halls were converted to auditoriums and this is how the image for this international project was constructed, launched as a major journalism project in Kosovo. The "faces" of this project were Willem Houwen, a person known in Kosovo because of a long presence as international staff, which was originally an OSBE staff but who was also involved in many other projects in Kosovo as an 'international', and, the chief political advisor to Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, Dukagjin Gorani, a journalist who had a 'problem' - he had never graduated! On the question addressed to Mr. Kaare Melhus, about why did they choose this building in Mazgit, nearby the Holy tomb of Sultan Murat, 25 miles from the center of Pristina, Mr. Melhus answered, « The MoU also states that MEST is responsible for providing KIJAC with a building. (Article VI). But MEST never did this, and being in a desperate situation, we were offered the building near Sultan Murat’s tomb, where the Ministry of Health at the time was vacating the premises ». Researchers have found that the facility where the KIJAC Faculty of Journalism was established is the compound of the company "M & B", which offered this space to the Ministry of Health as a warehouse for drugs. The owner of this company was and still is the businessman Zeqir Gashi, who happened to be as well Dukagjin Gorani’s brother in law. Researchers could not find evidence to prove the rent amount paid to "M & B" company.
