Course Description
28th Mayo Clinic Dermatology
Symposium: The O’Leary Meeting
September 23-24, 2011
This CME education program will provide
a multi-media approach to updating
physicians about the current and future
for caring of dermatology patients with
both common and rare diseases. Topics
presented will include areas of clinical,
laboratory, surgical and pediatric
dermatology. The information presented
will be relevant to dermatopathologists,
surgical dermatologists, general
dermatologists and pediatric
dermatologists.
Course Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this program,
participants should be able to:
• Provide up to date clinical, pediatric,
laboratory, surgical and research
information relevant to dermatologic
diseases.
• Integrate new knowledge into the
daily patient care of clinical practice of
Dermatology.
• Apply new technical skills in basic
procedural and cosmetic dermatology.
• Apply new Dermatopathology
information focused on the field of
Dermatology.
Attendance at this Mayo course does
not indicate nor guarantee competence
or proficiency in the performance of any
procedures which may be discussed or
taught in this course.
Intended audience
Dermatologists, physician assistants and/
or nurses along with other healthcare
practitioners practicing in the area of
clinical, pediatric, genetic, laboratory and
surgical Dermatology.
Grants and Exhibits
At the time of this printing, a complete
listing of commercial supporters (financial
or in-kind) was not available. Appropriate
acknowledgment will be given to all
supporters at the time of the meeting.
Exhibits will be available for viewing at all
scheduled breaks.
Credit
College of Medicine, Mayo Clinic, is
accredited by the Accreditation Council for
Continuing Medical Education to provide
continuing medical education for physicians.
College of Medicine, Mayo Clinic,
designates this live activity for a maximum
of 10.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Physicians should claim only the credit
commensurate with the extent of their
participation in the activity.
Minnesota Dermatologic Society will provide
credit separately for that portion of the program.

The 28th Mayo Clinic Dermatology
Symposium: The O’Leary Meeting will be
held September 23-24, 2011. Course
headquarters will be located in the Marriott
Hotel (101 First Ave SW) in downtown
Rochester, MN. Meeting facilities are
easily accessible by skyway and pedestrian
subway, which connect Mayo Clinic to
shops, restaurants, and hotels.

fee includes tuition, comprehensive
electronic course syllabus, continental
breakfast, lunch, break refreshments,
and Reception & Gala Dinner. Although
it is not Mayo School of Continuous
Professional Development (CPD) policy
to limit the number of registrants for a
course, conference room facilities may
necessitate closing of enrollment; therefore,
early registration is advised. A letter of
confirmation will be sent upon receipt of
payment and completed registration form.

Cancellation policy
If you cancel your participation in this
course, your registration fee, less a $75
administrative fee, will be refunded when
written notification is received by Mayo
School of CPD before September 9, 2011
(cme@mayo.edu or fax#: 507-284-0532).
No refunds will be made on or after
September 9, 2011. Canceled registrations
are non-transferable.
Mayo School of CPD reserves the right to
cancel or postpone any course due to
unforeseen circumstances. In the unlikely
event Mayo School of CPD must cancel or
postpone this course, Mayo School of CPD
will refund the registration fee, but is not
responsible for any related costs, charges,
or expenses to participants, including fees
assessed by airline/travel/lodging agencies.

that greets thousands of visitors from
around the world each year. Travelers
may arrange to fly directly into the
Rochester International Airport (RST),
which is located approximately 10 miles
from the downtown Mayo Clinic campus.
Travelers may also choose to fly into the
Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport
(MSP), located 80 miles north of Rochester,
MN. Access to and from both airports is
provided by taxi, shuttle service, and rental
car. Rochester Direct shuttle provides
transportation between the Minneapolis
airport and several Rochester locations. For

Note to Travelers: Several cities in the
United States are named Rochester. When
you make airline reservations and check
your baggage, be sure that your destination
is Rochester, Minnesota (RST) and that

Mayo patient/visitor ramps. The cost for
parking is not included in the registration
fee. A map indicating the location of
downtown parking facilities will be mailed
with the registrant confirmation letter.

Guest rooms have been reserved for
attendees and their guests with special
course rates at each of the following
downtown Rochester hotels. In order to
receive the special rate, reservations must
be made before the room block is filled or
before the expiration date of September 2,
2011, whichever comes first. Reservations
will be taken following this date based on
space and rate availability. Please identify
yourself as a participant of the “Mayo
Clinic Dermatology Symposium” when
making your reservation.

established by the Mayo Clinic Alumni
Association in 1977, and it now has grown
to more than 1,800 memberships. Both
alumnus and spouse are included in the
membership. Members of The Doctors
Mayo Society find that participation
in activities of the Society provides a
satisfying and enjoyable way to continue
their association with Mayo Clinic and
with other alumni. The Doctors Mayo
Society will sponsor the luncheon on
