Welcome to the Montrose Bible Conference where
people have the opportunity to step back from the rapid
pace of life to hear from God in the beautiful setting of
the Endless Mountains of PA. Montrose provides a place
away from distractions so that you can - Be still and know
that He is God.
The setting in this mountain getaway offers beauty in
all four seasons. We will serve you with delicious meals
and gracious hospitality. You will make new friends and
experience the joy of Christian fellowship. It’s time that
will be well spent and a much needed refresher for you. If
you have questions about our programs please contact us.
We also provide retreats and banquets for many churches
and Christian organizations each year. We would be
happy to help your church plan their next retreat.

Enjoy a concert with singer &
songwriter, Johnny Hall. (www.

as one of today’s most gifted and
versatile Christian artists. Although
classically trained, Johnny is equally
gifted in singing a variety of musical
styles. “I’m really an eclectic kind of
guy. I like my music like my food...
lots of variety.” A Johnny Hall concert
has something for just about every
musical taste. Join us for this inspiring

The Art of Marriage for
Ministry Couples
Monday-Tuesday, May 21-22

The Art of Marriage brings together
some of the most respected and
influential pastors and experts on marriage
and family all in one setting. It
also brings a fresh approach to a video
event by weaving together engaging
stories, real-life testimonies, man-onthe-street
interviews and humorous
vignettes to help couples fully experience
God’s design for marriage.
The Art of Marriage consists of six
video sessions and an accompanying
manual that provides couples with
projects to help apply the principles
taught during each session. The
manual is also designed for couples
to use after the event by offering
articles, date night ideas, and useful
tips for continuing to strengthen their
marriage.
As our gift to people in ministry, we
are discounting these rates significantly.

Summer Camp Reunion

Remember those camp days…fun
in the sun, swimming, camp games,
snack shop, canoeing and who could
forget the bonfires? This year we will
be hosting a very special camp reunion
for Camp Montrose alumni and
staff. Come and re-kindle relationships
as you see former cabin-mates
and staff, re-live those camp days by
experiencing activities and the sights
and sounds of camp, and re-juvenate
each other as we share around the
campfire. Dennis Ashley will be sharing
as he leads the campfire service
on Sunday evening. This time will
include a camp tour, devotion times
and all activities listed in the Family
Adventure Day.
Feel free to come and go as you
please, but activities will begin
Sunday evening and proceed through
Monday afternoon. Breakfast and
lunch will be served on Monday.

them with each audience they are

performing their hilarious skits, sharing
an original song, leading worship,
or speaking about what God’s Word
says about life’s trials, Higher Ground
seeks to encourage families by
pointing them to Christ and showing
them the importance of placing God
first in their lives and in their family.

Independence Day celebration. Come
to town and enjoy the Montrose parade
in the morning. In the afternoon
you can visit over 100 crafters and exhibitors
on the town green. Then join
us at the Conference from 5:30-6:30

completed 5th-7th grade
All you paintball fanatics this is the

Tami Thurber will be
sharing about the T.H.U.M.B. people.
Children will learn about the five
largest Unreached People groups
in the world. They will discover
characteristics of each people group
and their beliefs. T.H.U.M.B. is an
acronym for T = Tribal, H = Hindu,
U = Unreligious, M = Muslim, B =
Buddhist. Children will discover God’s
love for the nations and His desire to
be known, loved and worshiped by
the THUMB people.

Mini-Camp
Sunday-Wednesday, July 15-18
for kids who have completed
1st-4th grade
This is a great idea for first-time
campers. Not too long-not too short.
It’s just like having a sleepover at a
friend’s house including: activities,
games, food, swimming, and most
importantly, caring Christ-centered
counselors to guide you along the
way. Campers check in to Mini-Camp
written and recorded an album of
their original songs. They have two
young children—Aviva and Judah.

interactive, Bible-learning events for
adults, children, individuals, families..
TOGETHER!! SuperDoc will help
your whole family grow deeper in
your understanding of what you
believe and why. We will look at key
Christian beliefs such as “Why do we
follow the Bible?” “Who is God?”
“What can I as a child/adult do to
live the way God wants me to live?”
All of this learning will be done in an
interactive way you will enjoy and
remember.
Tim and Tami Thurber speak at
retreats and seminars. They are both
certified instructors for SuperDoc,
Walk Thru the Bible, and UnveilinGlory.
Their new family devotional book,
Handing it Down: Teaching Your
Children the Basic Truths of Faith, was
released in the spring of 2012.
During this week a variety of our family
friendly activities will be available.

The Greiner family,
known as Family Christian
Inspiration, is a ministry whose
purpose is to reach families for Christ
through Gospel-based programs
consisting of music (instrumental
and vocal), gospel-ventriloquism
and Bible-based preaching. FCI is
under the direction of Bevan Greiner.
The Greiners have been long-time
favorites at Montrose.

pastor of Jonestown Bible Church,

How can 2 cards a week and 20
minutes a day deepen your family’s
relationship with Christ?
The Bee is designed to help your family
move closer to God and closer to
one another as you learn, live out,
and celebrate His Word. Register
your children ages 7-18 years for the
2012 Bible Bee and learn how we
can equip and encourage a lifestyle
of investing in and living out your
relationship with Christ.
Each contestant receives:
• 25 Bible Memory Cards. That works
out to just over 2 cards per week during
the summer, a “do-able” goal for
your whole family!
• A Bible in one of five translations
• A “Sword Study” in-depth study on
one book of the Bible leveled for three
age groups, enabling the whole family
to study the same book at the same
time. Sword Studies don’t just teach
the Bible, they teach a lifelong skill of
how to study and apply the Bible, in
just 20 minutes a day.
• An official participant Bible Bee

• A Parent Guidebook that gives a
solid overview of the study and includes
a Family Bonfire Guide, so that
you can easily lead your family in fun
times of learning and sharing what

Enjoy a wonderful evening with

the music ministry of the Harvesters.
The group is compromised of two
couples who farm by day and sing
by night. They have been singing
together for over 20 years. They sing
a variety of styles and will be an
encouragement and blessing to you.

approaching December with a weary
sigh. Christmas can seem more about
chaos than quiet. To counteract this,
we invite you to a delightful, free
event for people of all ages. A room
called “The Quiet Corner” will include
an indoor, live nativity where you can
pause, enjoy soft music, and quietly
marvel at the wonder of Emmanuel
- God with us. “The Family Room”
will be a warm and lively place where
young and old can enjoy cookies
and hot chocolate, make a Christmas
card, or listen to beautiful Christmas
carols. Allow your heart a quiet place
to rest and ponder the meaning of
Christmas. Joy to the world, the Lord
has come! Let earth receive her King!

For retreats or Conferences a non-refundable $40 per person
deposit is required to guarantee a reservation.
Register by phone, mail, or email. Please provide your name,
address, phone number, the event you wish to attend, number
and names of people coming to the event and a credit card
number or check with at least the deposit.
For concerts or day events, full payment is required to confirm
the reservation.
CHECK-IN AT THE CONFERENCE
Unless other arrangements have been made, rooms may be
occupied after 3:30 pm on the day of arrival. Check-in is at the
front desk in Dreyer Lodge.
CAMP MONTROSE is an 80-acre youth campus with
a large dining hall, carpeted dorms, summer cabins, chapel,
gymnasium, rec hall, in-ground swimming pool and snack shop.
Camp Montrose is available for your next church youth retreat.
Deposit is transferrable one time to another overnight event,
if cancellation occurs 14 days prior to scheduled arrival.
Directions From Scranton:
North I-81 to Exit 223. Follow Rte. 492 W. Turn left onto Rte. 11
S. Turn right on to Rte. 706 W. At the traffic light in Montrose turn
right. Follow Lake Ave around the courthouse. At the top of the
hill, turn right onto Locust St. MBC is on the corner of Lake and
Locust. For Camp Montrose, proceed on Lake Ave, past Locust
two blocks and turn left onto Conference Rd.
Directions From Binghamton:
South I-81to Exit 1. Turn right off exit ramp and cross bridges. At
the traffic light (facing Broome Corporate Park), turn left onto Rte.
7 S. Turn right at the blinker light still following 7 south; after the
NY/PA line, Rte 7 becomes Rte 29. At the traffic light in Montrose
turn right onto Lake Ave. Follow Lake Ave around the courthouse.
At the top of the hill, turn right onto Locust St. MBC is on the
corner of Lake and Locust. For Camp Montrose, proceed on Lake
Ave, past Locust two blocks and turn left onto Conference Rd.

Lodging Options
TORREY HOME is an 1855 Victorian
brick home that served as the residence
of Dr. R. A. Torrey in the early 20th Century.
Large guestrooms are furnished
with antiques and Conference memorabilia.
Rooms have private baths.
DREYER MOTEL has comfortable
motel-style, air-conditioned rooms
adjacent to Dreyer Lodge. All rooms
have private baths and most rooms
have two double beds.
DREYER LODGE is centrally located
between Torrey Home and Dreyer Motel.
This 1920s two-story lodge features a
lobby with a stone fireplace, the dining
room, chapel, recreation room, and gift
and bookstore. Rooms have private
baths.
HOMESTEAD INN is three short blocks
from the Torrey Home campus, adjacent
to Camp Montrose. Rooms have either a
private bath or a half-bath with shower
room down the hall.
Linens and towels are provided in guest
rooms.
CONFERENCE HILL CAMP
GROUND & RV COURT is open
May13 through October 15. The
campground has large, quiet sites, a
bathhouse and laundry, walking trail,
and access to the swimming pool.
Meals must be purchased separately.
