BERLIN INTERNATIONAL MUSIC PROJECT (BIMP) 2013
GALA CONCERT: Sunday, 17 March, 17:00 at BBIS
Following the great success of the last three years’ Berlin International Music Project, we will be repeating this
event in the academic year 2012-2013 with the following participating schools: Berlin International School, Berlin
Brandenburg International School, International School Villa Amalienhof, Berlin British School, Mandela School, and
Freie Waldorfschule Kleinmachnow.
This fun, intensive music-making project gives young musicians the opportunity to meet and work with other singers
and instrumentalists from the Berlin-Brandenburg area. Our previous concerts were wonderful examples of what
can be achieved when schools collaborate and pool their collective talent.
This year there will be five ensembles:
● Junior Choir ● Junior Orchestra ● Senior Choir ● Senior Orchestra ● Jazz Ensemble.
The gala concert is scheduled for Sunday, 17 March 2013 at Berlin Brandenburg International School in
Kleinmachnow starting at 17:00.
Music teachers from each school will be responsible for auditioning, rehearsing and conducting the various
ensembles. Each group will then have rehearsals at different times prior to the concert.
All groups will have intensive rehearsals from the Thursday prior to the concert until the concert itself:
� Thursday, 14 March, in the afternoon (times and venues will vary for each group)
� Friday, 15 March, in the afternoon (as above)
� Saturday, 16 March, 10:00-16:00 all groups at BBIS
� Sunday, 17 March, 14:00-17:00 dress rehearsal, all groups at BBIS – CONCERT 17:00
Students may participate in two ensembles, attending rehearsals by negotiation with the respective group leader.
As soon as your child’s participation has been approved, we will send out music. Given that we are planning to have
the majority of the rehearsals in the few days prior to the concert, it is important that this music is practised with
your son’s or daughter’s music teacher before the first rehearsal.
In recent years, it has been costly to produce this event and we therefore kindly request that participants
contribute €25 towards these costs. Students taking part in two ensembles and/or families with more than one
participating child are only required to pay one fee.
