COURSE DESCRIPTION INFORMATION All course descriptions are listed by subject area, District course number, subject title, state PEIMS number, grade level, credit to be earned, prerequisite, and information regarding course content. Please check your campus course plann ng sheet for courses offered on your campus. For most courses, a m n mum enrollment of fifteen (15) students is required. • Course Availability: Courses l sted n th s catalog may be offered at all h gh schools prov ded campus fac l t es and appropriatley certified staff are available. • Course Number: The D str ct number used for computer schedul ng and grad ng. • Course/Subject Title: The name of the course/subject offered by the D str ct. • PEIMS Number: The state-ass gned number for a des gnated course ( ). • Grade Level: Approved grade level(s) for students to enroll n the course. • Credit: The amount of cred t to be earned by complet ng the designated course; e.g., 1/2 , 1, 2. Unless otherwise noted, all courses are full-year courses (not d v ded by semesters). Students who already have part al cred t n a course w ll be prov ded w th the opportun ty to complete the course and to earn the full cred t(s). • Prerequisite: The prior course(s) and/or entry criteria required for enrolling in the course. • Course Description: A short summary of the course content. • Number of Periods: Unless otherw se noted, courses meet for one per od a day. A survey of Amer can l terature including literary and nonfiction texts provides the source for critical th nk ng and l terary essays nclud ng a documented research paper. Emphasis in composition includes the precise, reflective writting of a variety of essays including critical essays and research requiring the use of technology to produce error-free compos t ons.
