ACF ALIAS CAPIAS ON Warrant issued for defendant who was<br />

FORFEITURE OF BOND originally arrested, made bond, then failed to<br />

appear for court date.<br />

SURRENDER OF BOND Bondsman no longer wishes to hold bond;<br />

for defendants who owe child support in state<br />

district family court. This code is used only by<br />

EXP EXPARTE Instrument required to allow fugitive to have<br />

hearing in district court where he/she may<br />

waive extradition {waive rights to have<br />

attorney and rights to protest being sent back to<br />

the state originally issuing warrant} if desired.<br />

FUG FUGITIVE WARRANT Warrant issued by local authorities for fugitive<br />

{person wanted by another state} to allow<br />

agency to hold defendant pending notification<br />

and arrival of authorities from the state<br />

cause. The writ may also be a request to file<br />

87A COMMITMENT FROM Issued when defendant is in court and<br />

A ASSAULTIVE/COMBATIVE Inmate has demonstrated violence and/or aggression<br />

toward staff, or has had a charge filed against him or<br />

her while in custody.<br />

C CAUTION Previously used to indicate a general reference of<br />

caution. See LPER transaction for the individual’s<br />

exact caution.<br />

E ESCAPE Inmate has a current charge or conviction of escape or<br />

attempted escape or these types of charges appear on<br />

their criminal history. This does not apply for evading<br />

arrest charges or juveniles who did not report to the<br />

Texas Youth Commission authority.<br />

K KEEP SEPARATE Inmate should be kept separate from another inmate.<br />

This will apply for all inmates known to have been<br />

charged with fighting each other while in custody, codefendants,<br />

and close relatives such as siblings, and<br />

parents and children.<br />

L LAW ENFORCEMENT Inmate is a police officer, former police officer, or an<br />

immediate family member of a police officer. This<br />

will also apply to correctional, parole and probation<br />

officers. In addition to immediate family members,<br />

other individuals related to law enforcement may be<br />

assigned this caution code if a supervisor determines<br />

it is necessary.<br />

P PSYCHOLOGICAL Inmate is currently housed per authority of the Mental<br />

Health and Mental Retardation Authority (MHMRA),<br />

has a history of being housed as an MHMRA patient,<br />

or is currently being prescribed psychotropic<br />

medication.<br />

M MEDICAL Inmate has a special medical handicap. This includes<br />

but is not limited to inmates who are blind or hearing<br />

impaired, inmates with medical conditions such as<br />

diabetes or tuberculosis, and inmates who require the<br />

assistance of prosthetic devices, wheel chairs,<br />

walkers, or canes. Inmates enrolled in substance abuse<br />

programs may also receive this medical caution.<br />

R RESTRAINTS Inmate is combative or considered an escape risk and<br />

should be restrained. A sergeant, lieutenant, captain,<br />

etc., can recommend that an inmate be restrained.<br />

Factors such as current charge and criminal history<br />

will be taken into consideration.<br />

S SUICIDAL Inmate has attempted suicide, exhibited suicidal<br />

tendencies or expressed thoughts of suicide.<br />

D DISCIPLINARY Inmate has been charged with a violation of the<br />

Inmate Handbook or a state charge while in custody.<br />

I INFORMATION Inmate has some other special character trait or<br />

situation. Character traits include but are not limited<br />

to homosexuality, gang affiliation, psychological<br />

referrals, etc. Situations may include transfers by<br />

medical from one facility to another that does not<br />

include a medical housing location.<br />

W WORKER Indicates that the inmate is assigned to a<br />

trustee/worker position or that they have past<br />
