two individual titles
at fi nal invitational

Thomas each won a pair
of individual events at
last Sunday’s Great Dane
Classic at the University
at Albany.
Carr won the boys
55-meter dash with a time
of 6.70 seconds and took
fi rst place in the 300 dash
with a meet record time of
36.79 seconds.
Thomas swept the
throwing events by
winning the shot put (49
feet, 6.75 inches) and the
weight throw (53-7).
BH-BL and Shen each
had a winning relay team.
BH-BL’s 800 relay team
of Carr, Luke Cameron,
Matt Bunch and Robert
Kirsty grabbed fi rst place
with a meet record-time of
1:36.83, and Shen’s 3.200
relay team of Michael
Borini, Will Marois, Evan
Hayner and Jon Zeosky
earned its title with a time
of 8:34.45.
Shaker dominated the
boys’ side of the meet. The
Blue Bison won the team
title with 82 points, while
BH-BL placed second with
51 points. Shen finished
third with 45 points.

won the 600 with a time of
1:27.81, and Libruk took
fi rst place in the 3,200 with
a time of 9:37.79. Christian
Brothers Academy’s Dan
Radtke earned the pole
vault title by clearing the
bar at 13 feet, and Colonie’s
Jayson Gayle fi nished fi rst
in the long jump with a leap
of 21-4.75.
Schalmont’s Devon
Willis was another double
winner at the Great Dane
Classic. He took fi rst place
in the 55 hurdles (8.09
seconds) and the triple
jump (44-2.5).
Kyle Plante won two
individual events to help
the Colonie girls indoor
track and fi eld team take
fi rst place overall.
Plante won the 300 dash
with a time of 40.78 seconds
and took fi rst place in the
55 hurdles with a time of
8.61 seconds for the Lady
Raiders, who accumulated
66 team points.
Shaker’s Emily VanDenburgh
turned in a pair
of top-three finishes.
VanDenburgh won the
long jump with a distance
of 17 feet, 7.75 inches, and
she placed third in the
55-meter dash fi nal with a
time of 7.50 seconds.
